We have returned to Hogwarts. Aside from Father donning red robes and insisting that he was that fabricated wizard who delivers presents on Christmas Eve, it was largely uneventful

It sounds rather nice your father was enjoying the festivities, I hope you enjoyed the holidays Kid. [And the nice symmetrical homemade candies she sent for Christmas.]
I see. That sounds like such an odd thing when in comparision my Dad's workload has increased so much because of all this, so I overheard debate on the matter frequently.
[D'aww Kid, he'll get more symmetrical goodies for that. ^^ And excuse my speed here, I'm wary of the fact my nailpolish is still drying.]
Father's workload was much the same which I find...anomalous from the rest of the wizarding community in America. I believe he is heavily involving himself in the matter.

From what I understand that is correct, they are a muggle weapon, but here in the U.K it seems they aren't used by most of the general public. According to what they said in Muggle Studies class, they're only kept by people who use them in their profession or for special leisure activities.
Your father must be working really hard then. And I couldn't say for sure if the entire Ministry is affected, though I guess since the place was attacked last year everyone is on edge.
My dad has a lot to do though since with the threat of more attacks, he and the rest of the Muggle Worthy Excuse Committee have to be ready to convince the muggle authorities and civillians to not put themselves at risk by looking into what's going on. I imagine covering all this up is no easy task.
No, it's getting harder and harder. I imagine since this is happening more and more it's difficult to know if they've accounted for every detail muggles might question. My dad is stressing out a bit since, despite what some of his co-workers think, he knows muggles are intelligent enough to put things together.
It's on the strength of the department alone that they haven't. Muggles may be clueless on the wizarding world, but they aren't be underestimated. We might be able to fabricate an excuse but when people are found to be dead, one has to wonder how long it will take until they take notice.
Right, just because they don't know about us doesn't mean they're incapable of figuring things out, particularly when the ones responsible for all this are making an effort to create as much chaos as possible.
Huh? You mean they don't even mention it?
