Today is unlike any other day. Not that there is anything special about today. Its just different from every other day I've had and will never exactly duplicate in the future. It's different and so void of meaning. Almost. There are days where your world is turned upside down and destroyed, and you have to reconfigure everything you thought you knew about life. The other 99.9%? They are days like today, but not exactly. I think days like these are where the true meaning of life lives. Everybody is always searching for that flash of thunder just to revel in the roar of thunder. They want the next big thing, the next shiny object, and the next disposable relationship. True growth comes in the infinitesimally small building blocks of the mundane, the ordinary. These are the most basic and fertile soils in which to grow. Each day is a chance to grow to understand yourself a little better and to understand the world, or a person, or a song, just a little bit better. I'm not sure where I am going with this anymore but it was a thought I had and nobody to share it with. Unfortunately it's thoughts like these that get buried in the mundane and I forget to bring up later.
