So I bought...
a CRAPLOAD of design & illustration books from amazon. I can't wait to get them all! It was seriously ridiculously fun buying them all, and really fucking exciting knowing I'm going to be able to do all of this for the IN!Also finally bought the sweet, sweet 50/1.4 lens (although get me the 50/1.2 w/ IS and I'll be in heaven), and a compact video light. There's still so much more I want and need: true white backdrop, second alien bees strobe, transmitters for external flashes and other misc items so I can have a decent strobist setup, a monopod, flash brackets, fisheye lens, a FAST computer (hahahaha), a 5d camera body, etc. etc. etc!
But one thing at a time.
They're already shunning me here at work which is so ridiculous. I can't wait to leave this place. Heading out to the IN office soon to learn more, view crazy deadline day in action, and go out with them to global grill for FREE drinks & food! Mhmm, one of the perks of being an employee there, is we do trading with them (and hopjacks, and other random places), so we drink all we want and eat for nothing! Wooo! We also get free opera tickets, which is pretty damn cool. I'm getting a year long art museum pass ASAP too because it's uber close to the office, and I plan on going there frequently on my lunch breaks and sketching. I just am overwhelmed by this huge burst of excitement and creativity, and HAPPINESS. I am just like...fuck yes! This is where I want to be!! I never thought a "real" job could be this amazing, much less existed. I'm living it up, well, disregarding the crappy situation with ken not having a job now. But I'm sure that will change too.
Now I'm just afraid I'll never want to quit my job to do photography full-time b/c this is just too awesome. Oh well, that's not exactly a bad thing, is it!?
