I have an interview today for the Art Director of the Independent News!!!!!!!!! AKA my Pensacola DREAM JOB! The current guy is leaving july 30th. I wasn't even expecting to hear from them because I submitted my portfolio weeks ago, and got no reply. He's leaving July 30th though, and just told me they wanted to meet me today if I was still interested. Wish me tons and tons and tons of luck. If I get this job, I will be fucking ecstatic! If not, it will be pretty crappy, but my current job isn't toooo bad. If I get it, I have no clue how I'll orchestrate getting trained and training someone for my p-court job (because I'm not really the type of person who is ok with just leaving), but I will figure it out easily enough.
I'm totally wanting to say hello to: more money, more creativity opportuities, getting to use InDesign finally (and a mac!), a job where I get to do PHOTOGRAPHY (can you say press pass?) & design the front of the publication (oh my god, I could even do illustrations for it!), working at this kickass office downtown for a company I love....wow. They also let the current guy use the office as a photo studio! And they always have art hung up there on gallery nights, so you know what I'd be doing. Mhmmm!
I will seriously be the most badass person in Pensacola if I get this job. For real.
But yeah, trying to not get too excited about it since I may not get it. Still, I can't exactly help it.
