bye, kitties

Lots of news, don't feel like writing about all of it.

In a nutshell:

We have two kitties. they are both about 3 months old, domestic short-hairs. Charley is mostly white with big black splotches on his back and head, kind of like a cow. Moasi (navajo for "cat") is all black except a little patch under her chin and her feet, which are white. They are so adorable, I can't believe it. Unfortunately, they have been sick with kitty colds. Charley is finally getting over his and is now an interminable ball of energy. Moasi, however, is really sick and trying to get better, except Charley keeps trying to body-slam her without warning. They are really awesome cats and I'm glad my family got them before I left for Santiago.

That's right, I'm leaving for Santiago on Monday. I got a backpack today for my computer, and I think I have everything I'll need, just have to pack it all up. Not much is planned for before I leave, so give me a call if you're in town and want to see me before 2006. It's a shame that I have to say goodbye to the kitties and not see them again until they're basically cats. But I know Luke and my parents will take good care of them.

The family just had our little vacation this week, floating down the Snake River in Hells Canyon (on a guided tour with O.A.R.S.) and had a good time. Evan and I came back a day early, Mom and Dad come back tomorrow, and Luke is staying with my cousins in Eastern Oregon for another week, so I won't see him until December. Well, that's all I feel like catching you all up on.

Oh yeah one more thing: I won't be posting lj updates in Chile, but if you want to be in the loop, email me (a w rodriguez at amherst dot edu) and I will put you on my email list.

Farewell, United States!
