The Curse of The Second Female Lead - Part I (Lee Yoon Ji)
Since i'm obsessed with K-dramas i'll start off with this one. For my fellow kdrama aficionados, I'm sure you guys are aware of what I'm about to say, a typical k-drama would not be complete without their trademark love triangle or square sometimes even pentagon! Now usually, the secondary leads would be the people you love to hate so the lead characters would be basking in the viewers' love and affection. Although in some instances, these secondary characters or actors are totally overshadowing the main leads.
In this case, I will make the beautiful actress 이윤지 (Lee Yoon Ji) as an example, Yoon Ji is currently starring in the k-drama 맨땅에 헤딩 ("Heading to the Ground") along with TVXQ's Yunho, Go Ara and Lee Sang Yoon. Yoon Ji plays the role of Yeon Yi the ever-loyal best friend to Yunho's character Bong Goon, and you guessed it, Yeon Yi is harboring a little crush and eventually lead to a one-sided love. I had to give this girl props since she actually got the balls to confess to Bong Goon and even managed to tell him to think it over and over and over again before he gives her an answer. And as the thread title suggests, I don't think I have to tell you guys the outcome.
The reason why I made an entry out of this is because, lately, I've always been rooting for the second female lead to end up with our hero. Yoon Ji did an exceptional job, even downgraded her appearance so Go Ara can shine even more, nothing against her or anything, she is one of the most beautiful Korean actresses but acting-wise? I'll take Yoon Ji anytime of the day. Lastly, I have no idea why I punish myself by rooting for the secondary character I know 99.9% they WILL NOT end up with the protagonist so why bother right? Sigghhh.....i do make things complicated sometimes...
