Woo hoo for Nofx!
Cool show last night at the Grove. Nofx isn't my all time favorite but I know most of their songs and most of them are really good. We didn't pit, everyone was strangely exausted for some reason. Jon of course says that between the four of us that reason starts with 25 and ends with 31 with 26 and 27 in between. I don't want to admit that so I'll attribute it to work and a slight fever I had.
But they were fun and energetic and entertaining which is not always the case with Nofx live given the sheer volume of alchohol they consume. So yeah, they rocked, they fucked with audiance members, they told everyone under 25 and over 37 to fuck off, talked shit on christians, muslims and white people while talking up Jews and Mexicans, it was very funny. All in all it wasn't quite as good as last years Bad Religion show at the SD HoB but whose complaining
Linoleam rocked the house, as did Leaving Jesus Land. They also played She's Nubs which was cool because Jon and I had just had a conversation about that song in the car. By far though my best moment was when they played The Brews. I sang that song like it was the fucking Hatikva! Some one threw a yalmuke on stage and Fat Mike wore it for a while before giving it to Melvin saying, "Oh, a gift for Orange County's first Jews!" In addition El Hefe started selling his picks for a dollar each. Mike sold his for 2.
So yeah, Nofx rocked the house with some awesome Punk Music and a shit load of Jewish Pride.
