A few minutes later, Kangin saw a field of cherry blossoms swaying slowly in the breeze. Loose petals flew and a few landed in Jungsu’s hair. Kangin looked at how beautiful the flowers were and could see the magic that existed throughout the whole field. His vision turned to Jungsu and he didn’t realize what beautiful hair Jungsu had…it was a honey gold type of hair color that any girl in the city would kill for. His eyes were also full of compassion and generosity absent in those that Kangin had dated. There was no hint of lust in those pupils, but just innocence like that of a pure white angel.
Kangin walked up to Jungsu and pulled out little bits of the sakura out. Jungsu’s cheeks turned as pink as the cherry blossoms and he whispered a quiet thank you.
The taller male looked down at the eyes of Jungsu and his heartached. Why?
Chapter 4
They gazed into each other’s eyes for quite awhile until Jungsu broke it off. “We should go.” He said as he headed down the hill.
Kangin was a little taken back by how quick he had looked away but he was glad Jungsu did. His cheeks were burning and he didn’t know why. He scoffed at his reaction. He had never felt like this before should why should he now. Besides, Park Jungsu was a boy. A boy. That enough should have stopped him, but then his eyes begged to differ…
“Are you coming Kim Youngwoon-ssi?”
“Yeah.”
They headed down the hill together and walked back to Kangin’s Gran’s home in silence.
Park Jungsu walked Kangin home. “Bye, Kim Youngwoon-ssi.”
“Wait.” Kangin grabbed Jungsu’s arm. “Call me Kangin.”
“Kangin?” Jungsu tilted his head. “What does that mean?”
“It means strong.”
“Ah, I see. Well bye Kangin.” The boy walked off. The other male watched as he headed off.
“So did you have a great time with Jungsu?” His grandmother asked as she pulled out the weeds that went near her garden.
“Yeah, surprisingly, I did.”
“Well, you better go get some rest.”
“Huh?”
“I’ll need water for tomorrow too you know.”
Kangin groaned and went to the house to get some rest. As he walked by, he looked at the table with a spot saved for him and his future wife. Kangin just snickered and walked away into his bedroom. As he lay down, he wondered what the future really held for him. He wasn’t super intelligent like the number students in the school nor was he a fashionista like Heechul. He wasn’t even sure what he was good at anymore other than being a host for the ladies, but Kangin was sure he couldn’t be a host forever. It’s not like he was going to stay young though he wished his youth was immortal. Sleepiness suddenly greeted him and he yawned as his eyelids began to droop.
Kangin woke up and saw the sun peeking from the hill. He got up despite his whole body telling him to stay in bed and sleep till noon.
“Kim Youngwoon-ssi.” A voice said.
“Huh?” He looked up to see a boy in a pair of jean shorts that showed his skinny legs.
“Good morning.” Jungsu smiled.
“Oh you too. Where’s Gran?”
“She went into town today.”
“What?! In that old beat up truck?!” Kangin shouted.
“No…” Jungsu was a little taken back by the shouting. “My mother drove her.”
“Oh, so did Gran tell me to do any chores?”
“Nope, you can just relax.”
Kangin silently cheered, this was the vacation he was waiting for! Finally he can relax! He turned to see Jungsu just looking at him. “What?”
“Nothing, you just seem happy as if he hit the jackpot.”
“Yeah, so is there anything you want to do?”
“Um, if you want, we could go to the cherry blossoms.”
“Sure.”
“Jae Hwa ah, Jungsu seems to be better.” The old lady said.
“It’s all thanks to you.” The woman smiled.
“I didn’t do anything, but I do fear for him though.”
“Same here.” The woman frowned. The two looked around at the old supermarket for supplies.
“Ah! Today’s a festival day…should we bake a cake?”
“Yes.”
Kangin’s grandmother chuckled and hoped the two boys were having fun alone.
“So you go to a private school?” Jungsu asked as Kangin placed a blanket for them to sit on.
“Yeah, pretty lame.”
“Really? I think that sounds great.”
“Nah, once you go there, you’ll be begging to leave.”
“Well, at least you go to school.” Jungsu pouted.
“Don’t you?” Kangin raised his eyebrows.
Jungsu sighed and shook his head. “My mother and I have issues with money.”
“And you’re saying I’m lucky.”
“Well you are…”
“So anything else you want to know?” Kangin stretched and lay down.
“Well do you work?”
Kangin thought for a moment. “No comment.”
“Why not?” Jungsu asked as he lay down next to Kangin. Kangin stared at the blue sky that reflected how clean the air was in the countryside. He turned to his side and saw Jungsu and his heart began to pound for some reason.
“Kim Youngwoon-ssi?”
“Didn’t I tell you to call me Kangin?”
“It’s hard.” Jungsu pouted.
“Aish, country boys and their politeness.” Kangin looked away from Jungsu’s pouty lips, those red soft..
“What’s wrong with being polite?”
“Makes me look bad.”
“Aren’t all city boys nice?”
“You have never been to the city then.”
“Why don’t you take me there one day?” Jungsu smiled, his little dimples showing.
“As if, you’re going to die there.”
Jungsu didn’t say anything and looked up at the blue sky. Kangin heard no reply and decided to change the topic. Cherry blossom petals drifted down slowly and landed in Kangin’s face as he closed his eyes.
“So I guess I’ll tell you what I work as.”
“What?” Jungsu sat up.
Kangin turned to his side and stared at him. “A host.”
“You mean like for a television show?”
“No pabo. For women.”
“A woman’s television show host?”
Kangin sighed, Jungsu’s innocence was too much to handle. It was so different being around Jungsu who knew no corruption, he was as innocent as an angel, hell he was more innocent than angels. The sky was getting dark but no one noticed.
“It’s a guy who takes women out for money.” Kangin said.
Jungsu’s eyes got big. “They have that?”
“Yeah, it’s common in the city.”
“Why do you do it? Don’t your parents worry?”
Kangin scoffed. “They’re more worried about their reputation. I’m not a filial son you know.”
“Well you should stop being a host then.”
“Why?”
“Because…” Jungsu struggled for an answer. Kangin raised his eyebrows and snickered.
“Have you fallen for me?” Kangin scooted closer to Jungsu.
“N-no.” Jungsu stammered.
Kangin looked at Jungsu seriously. “I have.”
