Something I read..
Then we just had a fun chat about following passion and how most people seem to use college as a gateway to employment rather than an institute of higher learning.
I just read that today..
And I found it both interesting and amusing..
I by no means am an academic..
But I cannot get my mind around the that comment..
I know that things change and evolve..
But I don't see that really happening with college..
The reason people go there.. Or at least the vast majority..
Is to learn the things needed for a career..
The small percentage that go to school just for knowledge..
Umm.. they are a bit strange.. or have no direction..
I am not saying that the pursuit of knowledge is not a noble quest..
But there are better ways to seek it..
School/College are meant to prepare you for work/career..
That's it..
This post is not a challenge to anyone..
It was just something I read and bugged me..
And I wanted to save it..
