new image hosting options?

so, recent imgur has been updating their site to where all the albums, no matter the setting, look like blog posts and everytime I upload more than 1 image, it automatically makes it a new album (which is difficult for me bc I already half albums for each community I'm a part of, so it adds an extra step to the upload process ;n ( Read more... )

I'd personally advise against Photobucket. For months, I [and others I've spoken to] have been unable to properly save anything from there. It saves as some odd broken file no programs can open, and I end up having to ask people to upload an image elsewhere or e-mail it to me just so I can save it and use it.

I initially chose imgur over Photobucket because the urls are MUCH shorter, which makes it easier for me when looking at html. I think I may just upload things in big batches, maybe? it's all so confusing :L

Photobucket is terrible, definitely don't use it, I really regret that I've ued it from the start so now all my stuff is there! :/ saving from there only works in Chrome but not in Firefox (don't know about other browsers). Also, clicking on image links that are hosted at photobucket takes you to the entire photobucket page instead of just that image, so it takes forever to load. So yeah even imgur as it is now is def better than PB :S

How about uploading directly into your LJ account? It comes with storage space and you can create albums and stuff :)

photobucket has always been stingy with me, so I've never wanted to use it :s I think I'll use the lj account since it's 1gb of storage, right? If so, and each of my icons average 20kb, that's 50,000 icons, so I should be good ;p thanks for your advice; I'd totally forgotten about the lj service ^^

imgbox.com is a great site. I'm not sure if there are any limits to how many images are saved there but it keeps all the images full size and I think unlimited gallery sizes.
