hey, folks.

i don't have any super-interesting stories about drunk people, crazy roomies, or salsa dancing, but i do have some more mundane stories of a community college student.

chase and i went to the coast to visit my dad, his fiancee, and my grandma. we carpooled with my sister and her boyfriend, and let me tell you: those two CANNOT DRIVE. brian has major machismo issues, and caitlin has no depth perception at night, so the trip to shell beach and back was rather terrifying. we got there around 12:45 saturday night (or sunday morning, for you sticklers) and stayed up talking until about 2:30. then we were up at 6:30 sunday morning to go tidepooling. later on sunday, we went to a thing called art in the park, it was really awesome, but it was SO HOT. it was seriously about 105 on a bluff overlooking the OCEAN. yeah, we had a wind, but it was hot wind. and NO ONE over there has air conditioning, so it was almost as bad inside as out. chase and brian actually left and found somewhere to go swimming that wasn't swarming with people.

it's been kind of strange here--- because consciouslly (sp), you KNOW that everyone's gone, but you still feel the urge to swing by someone's house when you're in the area, just to say hi. it's so weird.

chase and my (this is one of those grammatically difficult intros) 2 year anniversary is coming up in 2 weeks and 2 days. i don't know what to do about it, every time i ask him he just plays the "i'm not creative" card, and so i guess it's entirely up to me if i want to do ANYTHING for our anniversary. meh. i guess that's pretty normal, but we don't have a particularly ordinary relationship. *gripe gripe gripe*

i'm kind of in a funk, so sorry if i seem whiney or oppresive or something. i slept for WAY too long today.

hope you all are having a lovely three-day!
