Wow! I love how mysterious everyone is to everyone else. It's so true to life, though I think we hardly ever realize how little we know about what's going on in the heads of most of the people around us. That's played out sharply in this story and is a lot of fun to read.
I did not at all expect the true cause of Snape's shortness with Harry after the dinner party, but I loved the way you went with it! Really interesting that seeing someone else actually doing what he has done or fantasized about doing gave Snape a completely different perspective on it. I think that's totally true to life too.
I've got suspicions of what Volds is up to. I wonder if you have indeed dropped some hints earlier on, or if these were red herrings? If you did drop true hints, and I somehow (unlikely) am interpreting correctly, than . . . holy evil genius. I really like stories where Voldemort is so skillfully manipulative and subtly evil that it makes believable his history of giving the entire world plus Snape and Dumbledore a run for their money for so many years.
I imagine with a group like the Death Eaters, that mysteriousness would be in tripple fold.

I did make Voldy a bit smarter than he appeared to me in canon because I love smart villains. I hope he comes across as more insane than stupid.
