Ok, this is going to be here because I really need to update this thing with what I have been doing, not only for people who read this in case they want to know, but also so that way down the line in the future, I can come back and read it and be like, Oh yeah! I remember that! that was fun! lol. ^^' Yes, so where did I last leave off? My Xmas eve. So I think that I will START with my Xmas. My host father, my host sister, and I went with him and a couple of his friends to a Japanese styled resturant, and it was pretty amusing, because one of his friends is currently living in England and so is studying english, for obvious reasons, and so he would ask me things in english, and then me, being the person in the group who was studying Japanese, would answer back (as best as I could) in Japanese. lol. It was quite amusing, and cause alot of people at our little table to laugh, including me and the guy. They all thought it was strange though that I did not take off my hat, but once I put a hat on, I do not take it off again until I am in the comforts of my own home or the place I am going to be staying at for at least a few hours because of what my hair will look like when I take it off. Not my hair persay, but my bangs, the one part of my hair I actually worry about looking somewhat decent, cause I am strange like that. But another thing that was amusing about that night, is my host sister and I were unintentionally the two Xmas girls. She was wearing all red (red hat, red coat, red scarf) and I was wearing all green (Green hat, green hoodie, green gloves). lol. It was quite amusing, and then with me and my bells, oh yes, you could feel the xmas. Kinda. ^^' . Um, so I got home that night, was tired, and I think that I might have played games a little, but other then that, I went to bed.
Alrighty, after xmas and all that hyped up stuff, on the 28th, my host family and I left for Kyoto at 11:30 at night. ^^'' Before we did that though, I watched a REALLY awsome movie called Omiyoge or something like that, and it...was badass. lol. I am so going to buy it. Plus the magic using guy in it was kinda hot. ^^' But yeah, enough of that. lol. We drove to Kyoto all that night which was a pain, because I couldn't sleep, (though I did get to sit on Inami's lap. -^^- ) and so we arrived at Kyoto at 5 something in the morning the next day, and everyone was like, gragh. lol. First place we went to in Kyoto was a 7-11 because we were all hungry (me not having ate since like, 8 something the night before, and when you have been pretty much awake that whole time, yeah. ^^' ) and I got myself some bread and a meatbun. lol. Cause everyone who's anyone knows that Meatbuns restore your life right? >DD So after my +50 life up break, the first temple that we went to, was by far the best in my opinion. It was the temple where the movie I had just watched before the trip (and mentioned in here but am to lazy to do again, lol) had been filmed. So not only did THAT make it cooler then usual, but also, the best part. The main area of Worship for the temple, was the four gods. MEANING, I got some awsome stuff of my god, Genbu. >D I got a painting of him and a keychain thingie (which I turned into a necklace) compliments to my host father, and then I got a wooden board thingie with him on it too. I also got Leia some Byakko stuff, because that makes alot of sense and cause I love getting her stuff. lol. so yeah. I got alot of awsome Genbu and Byakko stuff, and my day was made. After that we went to this one temple that was supposedly built very strange for temples, and one of the gods that they worshiped there was a god of love and realationships and stuff like that, so there were alot of mushy things there. lol. Also there were two rocks on a path, and supposedly if you could walk from one to the other with your eyes closed, and without anything bad happening, then that would mean good luck in love. lol. I made it, but about killed the poor stone when I kicked it on accident as I was walking with my eyes closed. ^^' What can I say, I'm dangerous when facing the unknown. lol.
After that Temple we went to a few others, including the Golden Palace. Man was that thing awsome looking! >DDD I got bells at each one that I went too (actually my bell count now equals 17, but I am not going to wear anymore then that, cause it's my fav number and I really don't want people to kill me when I get TOO annoying, lol) And in general I had alot of fun, though it was pretty cold. That night we stayed in a hotel that wasn't Traditional or anything, but I did have to get naked in front of my host sister and host mom to get into the hot bath thingie, and there was a strange lady there, and like, the water was too hot and I almost died. T.T <---Dosn't deal well with hot water.* My host family thought it was pretty funny that I could not enter the bath, saying that it really wasn't that hot. I then had them feel the average temperature of my showers during the winter, and that got them to shut up. lol. Not really, they were like, HOLY SHIT IT'S COLD!!!! lol. Ah well, each to their own I suppose. That night for dinner we had a traditional styled Japanese dinner, all of us wearing our Yukatas (which was a pain to put on, cause I say so, lol) and then we all went to sleep even though it was only like, 8, because we were all just about dead, for obvious reasons.
The next day, We got up at seven, had a somewhat Traditional styled Japanese breakfast, (rice, Nato, Miso Soup, some noodle stuff) and we then walked to all of the temples we went to that day, with the exception of the last one. They were all really neat, and the first one that we went to was huge, and it had a BEAUTIFUL Bamboo trail thingie, that was actually in the movie Memiors of a Geishi if anyone has seen that. Yeah. The beautiful Bamboo trail forest thingie. Yeah. I was there. lol. Course I also went to the street where most of that movie was supposed to have taken place, but yeah. ^^'' We also went to a Temple of the Maple Leaves, and a temple of the fallen Persimmon. lol. Don't ask I suppose ne? ^^'. Then our last stop of the day was the Silver Palace, which was actually alot more run down then I thought it would have been. ^^'' It reall looked it's age I guess. lol. Though the rest of the gardens around it and stuff were beautiful. And of course, as one could have guessed for Kyoto, there were Shinsengumi merchandise EVERYWHERE. I got a shirt and a bell thingie with their Logo on it, and I got my brother something of them as well, but wow there were alot. lol. I actually got all my family gifts in Kyoto with two exceptions, but that's boring stuff. lol. After the silver Palace we piled in the car again and drove home, with me daydreaming/trying to sleep out of boredom/talking to my Seishi all of the way home, and the ride actually seemed to be shorter then the way going there. ^^' Which was nice, not complaining, nope. lol. Anyway, once we got home we were hungry, and so we went and picked up my host brohter and then we went to a resturant and we got stuff to eat, then we came home and I slept. lol.
Next Important thing that I can remember is New Years. It was quite interesting. Not really, it was kinda boring, but still. lol. The whole day we ate Traditional Japanese new year foods (Sashimi (raw fish) Sushi, Soba, and some other strange stuff) and we just all kinda lazed around. That night we went to a temple around midnightish, and we all had to ring a bell, and then we ate Mikans (Japanese Oranges) and drank Sweet Sake, and we got fortune thingies. Apparently my fortune is the best one you can get too, lol, which is nice. Maybe it will be true. ^^' That would be nice. lol. Anyway, that was all we did that night, though the next day, around four, we went to my host mothers sisters house. Her family was very nice, and it was fun, though I felt really Japanese retarded for some reason. lol. One thing that we did that was pretty fun though, was we played a game where I would ask them what states were close to Oregon, like, 'what state is Below Oregon?' and it was amusing to watch them try to figure it out. lol. Then the Grandpa of the family went and got a map, and they were all surprised when they saw where Oregon was, because they had thought it was somewhere in Central usa, near Montana or something. ^^' lol. One of my host dads guesses though for what state was beside Oregon was the Rocky Mountains. that was hilarious, cause he was being serious too. ^^' . Anyway, I got alot of money, because it is the Japanese tradition to give the kids and stuff money on new years, and so alot of the family gave me money, even though they really shouldn't have. ^^' I felt really bad. But ah well, what can you do when it's tradition right? lol. Indeed.
The next thing that I can think of to write about is when Conley and I Met each other and hung out for the day. >D That was awsome. And one hilarious thing that happened, lol, was we went into this shop that had some pretty cool clothes, well, we hadn't wanted to go in it, but yeah. We had been looking at the stuff from outside when the creppy old store owner pulled us inside to show us more of his stuff. While inside I saw a Jacket that was pretty cool, and he instantly pulled it down from the shelf and was like, in borken enlgish 'It's an original, I made it myself, no others like it.' It was a badass Jacket, so I looked at the price, and saw that it was only thrity something dollars! awsome!! So I commmented that I might buy it, and then he was all like, 'You guys look like nice not Japanese American girls yes? So just for you I lower price, but you have to promise to not tell Japanese girls about this place yes?' lol, and just, with his accent and what he was saying and the way he was saying it, it was creepy and hilarious at the same time, and Conley and I were having SERIOUS problems trying to hold back our laughter. God that was funny. So anyway, I was like, awsome. Price deduction, but wait, why would he lower the price when it was already so low? So I looked at the price again and saw that there was a little tiny one there before the other numbers. Sooo...with his lowered price instead of being 120 something, it was now only 90 something. Yeah but er. sorry. ^^'' lol. conley and I left, laughed our asses off, and then continued on our way shopping. At one of the malls we met Melissa while ranting about how ignorant people can be about love and stuff, and we then went to Subway and Had lunch (me buying conley subway was her xmas gift. lol. ^^' ) But yeah. It was fun, and Conley and I just had an awsome time talking about things. At least I know I had an awsome time. lol. She invited me to go to Harajuku with here, and I can't wait to go. >DD She wanted to go the end of this month, though I don't think I will be able to do that one.
Anyway, school started again (Very unenthusiastic Yay. -_- ) and so that life has once again began. One thing that makes me happy though, is the fact that next week, because our class (with the exception of Melissa and I because they didn't even feel the need to Invite us, which royally pisses me off) is going to Guam, and so Melissa and I are going to be in the Junior Hs for that time. Melissa will be in the class with her host sister, the second years, and I...I GET TO BE IN RIE'S CLASS!!!!!!!!!!!!! I was sooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo happy when I heard that. -^_______________^- Konyaku Woman and the Tifa Monster united once again!!!! >DDDDD >) lol. Like I told Melissa, Rie will always be, no matter how many times I change, my Japanese family, and her apartment will always be my Japanese 'home.' I miss it so much. T.T I mean, my new host family is nice and everything, but it's just not the same. I don't feel comfortable being myself at all. Ah well, that's life. lol.
Well, I got distracted, and I think I have pretty much covered it all anyway, so until next time,
The Tifa Monster
(p.s. Happy late xmas and new years to everyone!!!! -^^- )
(p.s.s. It's snowing here, first time in 20 some years, and it SUCKS! >.< )
