This time of year always makes me a little sad. My dad died 2 years ago and Halloween was always a special time of year for us. My dad went all out for Halloween. Our front yard was a veritable obstacle course of all things spooky and anyone brave enough to make it to the front door was rewarded with a full sized candy bar, none of those fun-size miniature things. *sigh*
Oh well. It's not like I'd be able to really do anything like that on this particular Samhain (I've been researching lots of Celtic stuff lately). Rather than scaring the crap out of kids and adults alike, I'll be working at Bath Junkie 'til 9 then frolicking about the Coffee House event that Student Senate is hosting. On the bright side, I get to wear my costume to work. My costume is nothing more than a t-shrit that I'm wearing over my regular clothes, but it amuses me. For the record, my t-shirt says NUDIST ON STRIKE.
If SS weren't doing Coffee House tonight, I'd probably lock myself in my dorm room and turn out all the lights so that I could watch a scary movie. Ann will be busy with Homecoming committee stuff and Coffee House take down so I could have the place all to myself. What movies would I watch? There's The Changeling, I suppose, but Seth and I are watching it tomorrow night. Seth's amazing. He at least LIKES horror movies and he knows how difficult this time of year is for me so he's pretended to be absolutely to be excited about watching mine and my dad's favorite scary movie with me. I think he'll enjoy it, but I know he's doing it solely because he knows it will make me happy and not because he has any genuine desire to see the film.
Ooh! Random interjection: The two boys I work with on-campus actually like Groban and have asked me to lend them my albums. *rejoicing* They even want Noel. This is almost squee worthy.
Anyway, I have to get back to work now. I just needed a little cathartic blogging before I have to finish my hour at work and then write my 300 word article about the ballgame last Saturday. Our boys lost, but don't get me started on that. THEY ONLY MADE 20 PERCENT OF THEIR SHOTS!!! I'm astounded that we only lost by 4 points. Thank God it was only an exhibition game.
