I'm an idiot.
On Friday, it looked like Misty, the Staffmark associate at Teleflora, was putting up this week's schedule. Well, I misread what was on the board and didn't notice that it was last week's schedule. So, I got up at 7 a.m., left at 7:30 and went to work because I thought I was supposed to be there at 8. Nope. When I went to clock in, there were only three names on the schedule for the email department. Misty wasn't there, of course, so I talked to Kirby who told me to go ahead and go home. Yeah, I felt really intelligent. On the bright side, I ran into one of the other email workers on my way out and she thought the same thing I did.
So, I went to my friend Meagan's lingerie shower Saturday night. I was really nervous before I went. Most of these people I hadn't seen since my dad's funeral 3 years ago or since graduation 3 years before that. Normally, it would've been no problem for me. But, I just moved home to live with my mother and I have no steady form of employment. And, this is no exaggeration, I was the ONLY single woman there. Lindsey, Ginny, Alicia are all married. Tammy has a boyfriend and Meagan is obviously engaged. All of the other women were women from the church or some of Meagan's other friends and all of them were either married or engaged. Meagan's 16-year-old cousin Hawley was there and even SHE has a boyfriend!
Once I got over feeling like a loser, I had a really good time. Not only did we have fun embarrassing Meagan, but everyone played "Pin the Junk on the Hunk." I'll let your imaginations wander and get a nice visual image of that one. I also took about 360 pictures that night. I need Photographers Anonymous or something. I couldn't make myself stop taking photos. My only justification is that I was trying out different settings so I could be well practiced for Sarah's wedding.
Anyway, I'm filling out a profile on CareerBuilder and it asks if you'd like to put a link to your social networking profile or a blog or something. Apparently, 24% of employers have hired people based on these types of things because it sets candidates' resumes apart. I'm thinking about adding this LJ link and my Facebook. Input, please. What do you guys think? Oh, got to go pick up Mom. The truck died on her this morning on her way to work so I'm going to pick her up since I'm not working until four anymore.
