Summary: Ryo is scared that Shige will leave him. (Sorry for the bad summary.)
Notes: I wrote this around Christmas/New Year’s and figured I would post it now since I might not have my other RyoShige fic up for a while. Anyways it’s just a short drabble.

The alarm rang in Ryo’s ear. He left out a soft groan; morning always came too early for him. Ryo’s hand reached out towards the other end of the bed. It searched around for a few moments but there was nothing there. Ryo groaned again before rolling back into his pillow. It took a moment in his mind for it to finally register…there was nothing there. Upon realizing that his partner was missing from bed he shot up.
“Shige?” He called out from bed.
There was some noise from the direction of the kitchen, Ryo assumed this meant that Shige was just preparing breakfast for the couple and so he lay back down and snuggled back into the sheets.
After waiting for Shige to return to their shared bedroom for a few minutes Ryo sat up and called out for Shige again. This time Shige came, he stood in the doorway, his hand resting on the door frame.
He was wearing a jacket and carrying a duffle bag in one hand. Ryo eyed him for a moment before barking out, “Where do you think you’re going?”
“The airport,” Shige responded as though it was the most obvious thing in the world.
Ryo’s brow furrowed, “Why are you going to the airport?”
“I’m going away with Koyama for the weekend. We’re flying to Okinawa. Did you forget or something?” Shige responded softly.
“I didn’t forget!”Ryo growled. He tried his best to look defensive but it didn’t last long because soon enough he was climbing out of bed and throwing his arms securely around Shige’s waist.
“I don’t want you to go, so I’ve been trying to push the thought of you leaving me aside.” Ryo said quietly.
Shige couldn’t stop the soft laugh that escaped his lips. He immediately turned serious when he heard Ryo sniffling into his shoulder. “Ryo…it’s just two days. It’s not like I’m leaving forever.” He mumbled, trying in vain to comfort Ryo.
Ryo shuddered at the thought of Shige actually leaving him for good. That couldn’t happen. He loved Shige. He would never let that happen. Ryo pulled Shige closer.
“Ryo, come on, Kei’s picking me up in a few minutes. Let me go.” Shige said, trying to break free of Ryo’s embrace.
“No!” Ryo growled and pulled Shige tighter to his chest again.
“Ryo…” Shige tried, gentler this time, hoping that Ryo would stop if he understood that this was important. This was his weekend with Koyama. They didn’t get these opportunities to spend time together often, and they had booked this weekend off months in advance. He had to go.
“If I hold you for long enough you won’t leave.” Ryo whispered.
“That’s not true Ryo. You know I’ll still go.” Shige tried to reason again, “It’s only a weekend.” Ryo was insane if he thought that Shige was going to cancel his plans with Koyama just because Ryo was too much of a baby to spend two days alone.
“Shige…I know…but just for a minute…can’t we pretend you would stay?” Ryo whispered again, his voice cracking.
Shige gave in. He stopped struggling against Ryo and wrapped his arms around the shorter male. Ryo was soon nuzzling his neck, still breathing unevenly, but nonetheless easier. Shige knew that his weekend was important, but making Ryo happy was important too, so just for a minute he could pretend that he would stay.

AN: I am very busy with school and don't have much time to write, but I still really want to write so I'm willing to take requests from people, I have a post on my journal about it so check it out (it's not f-locked) and send it requests.
Aside from that I am working on a RyoShige oneshot that is seriously angsty and taking up plenty of time from during my classes. XD It'll be posted sometime within the next month or so because it seems as though it will be seriously long since I have no real ending planned.
