The fact that I like late nights doesn't change just because I'm at work.
In theory, this shouldn't be a problem as I don't have to get up until 8am in the morning. I should be able to stay up until at least 1am every night.
In practice, it's a bit more complicated than that. Most of my friends seem to go to bed as soon as they've finished work (9-10pm), meaning that by the time I've finished work, I'm left on my own. It's no fun watching TV and drinking coffee alone so I usually end up going back to my cabin out of sheer boredom. I've got WiFi this time though, so it's not too bad.
My friend Malin likes staying up late too but we're working different weeks onboard, so we hardly ever see each other, and we definitely don't get to hang out at night. Yes, I'm still bitter about it.
However, it turns out that Daniel works the evening/night shift this week so it could mean some potential company and someone to talk to. I got to go with him on his safety/fire check tonight. We went to lots of different areas I didn't even know existed. Like, Deck 1. Exciting stuff!
...it's getting a bit late now. Still not tired but I should probably try to get some sleep. Tomorrow's a new day, and we'll be back in Gothenburg. Only three more trips to go!
