Well that's just fucked up

My mother's youngest brother is the only one of my mother's siblings I get along with fairly well. He had twin daughters born within a few months of me. One died when we were 4 from complications with asthma (only four of my grandmother's grandchildren inherited her asthma to the degree that she had it, the twins, me and my cousin Ricky). My uncle Michael hasn't seen his daughter Adria in over ten years. Why? Because his ex wife took Adria and her older brother somewhere and didn't leave any kind of contact information.

My uncle Michael just recieved a letter from his ex saying that Adria was married and had three children. Congradulations, your a grandfather. But Adria is hurt that her father has never tried to contact her and would it kill him to drop Adria a line. My former aunt didn't put a return address on the envelope or leave any kind of contact information in the letter. Can we say Bitch? I knew you could.

So looks like we are going to go down to visit him in Oregon in a few weeks and I get to fix his internet and then play sleuth. My mother already volunteered me. Isn't that wonderful? (yes that is sarcasm) All I have to go on is my former aunt's maiden name, my cousins maiden name and whereever this current letter is postmarked from. I have ideas on how to search for people but I'm not that good. If I was I'd have tracked down Robyn already. I've come achingly close but all the contact info I glean doesnt pan out, cause its usually outdated. Hmm, maybe if I call my former aunts parents they will talk to me. I can use the same age card and oh me and Adria were close because of our ages, etc etc. Yes, there are sometimes when I feel lying is worth it. And actually I'm only bending the truth since I was always fond of Adria because she was my age.

*le sigh*
