Over the Labour Day weekend, I went over to Sabah to climb Mt. Kinabalu. It was awesome knowing that I actually hiked up to 4095m. :-) It is much tougher than I thought, you really need lots of stamina as told by
inbam. Ok... i actually missed the beautiful sunrise (try to imagine me dragging my camera, monopod, gps & water supply without a good sleep from the nite before the climb). Oh... nevermind... it gave me an excuse to come back again to this mountain for the sunrise. By the time I reached the Low's Peak, most people were already going down. I spent a good 15 minutes alone on the peak taking photograph and enjoying the scenery. Here's some highlights of my trip.
South Peak of Mount Kinabalu.
Mount Kinabalu, looking from Kinabalu Park HQ.
Liverwort, a small flowerless grass-like green plant, lacking true roots and reproducing by spores. (Concise Oxford Dictionary).
Me with the stunning sunset at Laban Rata.
Colour of dawn from the plateau.
The sheer vertical drop of Low's Gully.
Low's Peak (4095.2m). I had my gps on the rock and obtained 4103m for the elevation. Any ideas?
On my way down, saw this potter carrying a 30+kg plank to Sayat-sayat Hut. I was like :O You'll sure be amazed by those Kadazan women carrying gas tank from Timpohon Gate to Laban Rata.
