Instead of staying home watching the Australian Grand Prix over the April Fools weekend, I went on a kayaking trip organized by my company at Sg. Pahang. There were 16 "fools" on the trip. The first day, we were trained on basic kayaking skill at Kuala Bera and we stayed at Klinik Desa Kuala Bera for the night. The next day, we started our journey at Kg. Kuala Wau, a small village along Sg Pahang, then entering Tasik Chini via Sg. Chini. After 6 hours and more 20km, we reached Tasik Chini visitor center at about 4pm.
Entering Chini River
OK!! Everyone off to the water! Water-confident training.
Croc!! Swim!! Swim!! We resembled a group of refugees swimming across a river boader. ;p
Mandatory Group Photo before the trainning start.
OMG! He is 5 years old?! That little fella insisted to go on the kayak with his dad during the training. I was most impressed.
A bit more. That's me practicing the self-rescue procedure during capsize. I found that it's really hard to get into the kayak while wobbling on the water.
Picnic by the Pahang River.
Me relaxing in the river after training.
BBQ dinner at night and it's a fresh water fish fair. Macam-macam ikan ada.
My "Favourite" - the charcoal ikan patin.
The Ciku tree found at Klinik Desa Kuala Bera.
Kayaking in Pahang River.
My red hot Ferrari but without the 800hp V8 engine behind my back. Very tiring and my shoulder hurts badly after the kayaking... :(
Navigating the Chini River.
Me posing for camera.
Struggle and Relaxing. We needed to open the canal lock and let our kayaks pass thru but it just stuck there. Sigh... The ladies waited while our men stuggled to clear the mud.
We have to carried all our kayaks to the other side of the dam.
Tasik Chini
Lotus bulb.
The final leg of the journey.
Signing off...
p/s: I won't be able to reply your comment soon cause I will be diving at Redang Island over the long weekend. ;p
