Just finished watching Michiko e Hatchin. Huh. Did not expect Hiroshi to be such a creep. It was entirely more realistic than I really expected it to be (but at the same time I was constantly wondering, "Is this really what Brazil is like, or just Japan's way of seeing it?" XD). Hatchin's so adorable. She got on my nerves every now and then because she just loves to bitch and nag, and even the cutest character becomes a bit overbearing when they repetitively screech at the top of their lungs. But I love how everyone was magnificently flawed. Michiko's was, obviously, her blind devotion to Hiroshi (that damn creep). I thought it was a bit anticlimactic that the viewers found out in the end that Hiroshi was nothing more than a cheating, two-timing con artist after all that searching and chasing, but hey--that's life.

My second favorite character's gotta be Atsuko. Jumbo~ Aw man, when she started crying, it just tore me up inside. It really hurt that Michiko didn't give her much thought either. It was hard keeping my mind from automatically reverting to yuri. B| But seriously, the whole theme about friendship was really refreshing. AH. SATOSHI. I actually liked him. I dunno why. No specific reason. I was sad when he died. 8(

Overall, not the best I've seen, but pretty good. The characters are likable and it was enjoyable to watch the culmination of events all the way up to the end.

NOW, time for Ice Age 3: Dawn of the Dinosaurs. I watched the first one with my sister--and loved it. Watched the second--meh, it was okay, but sequels tend to suck, so I wasn't expecting much either. Now, I watched the third one with my dad and his boyfriend--his SEVENTY-YEAR-OLD BOYFRIEND--and man if I hadn't enjoyed the movie I would've felt guilty for making him watch an animated film. I love animation, and probably always will, but I can understand that he probably thought it was torture to have to sit and watch talking prehistoric animals.

ANYWAY YEAH THAT'S NOT IMPORTANT BECAUSE I AM OFFICIALLY IN LOVE WITH A WEASEL AT THE MOMENT. A WEASEL BY THE NAME OF BUCK (aka Simon Pegg~ <3). There really isn't much to said about this. Buck is just--just heavenly. Seriously, I thought he was the only likable character in the movie. I used to love Diego and Manny and Sid (Cid? Sp?), but the dialogue for everyone else in the movie just came off as forced and painfully unfunny to me. As my dad noted after we walked out of the cinema, "Buck stole the show." I want to have a Buck plushie that speaks in that glorious accent whenever I squeeze him. >w<

Oh yeah, the movie. Well. Let's just say, without Buck, there wouldn't have BEEN a movie. >8|

(Shit, I think I have a new obsession with Simon Pegg now.)
