Strange but true randomness from the mind of the Ki

When I get upset or sad, I get the beloved to hum "Do You Know the Way to San Jose?". Needless to say she hums that one a lot. I've been away from her too long and stuck in the hellish limbo that is my parents home for too long. Anyone know how to score a green card or even a visa so I can at least do something while I'm in the States? Not that I'm exactly capable of work, but it has been four years since I was gainfully employed so it feels like time. I can actually use the phone again. (For those of you who don't know I worked as a technical support analyst for a while and when I left for health reasons, mostly mental, I couldn't use the phone at all. Chalk it up to some sort of PTSD, I guess.) But the good news is I am heading back to Nebraska on the 14th. Yes, theholyinnocent I am once again flying through Newark but I only have an hour and a half between flights, so no chance for a visit even if you did feel adventurous enough to head for the Garden State.

I wish this entry had more of a focus but I am currently trying to force myself to write, any kind of writing, at least a half an hour a day, to get over a serious bit of block. I tried writing some Alex/Olivia fic yesterday and I can cheerfully tell you it was the worst thing I have ever written and I used to try my hand at rhyming couplets.

On another note (man, this is turning into quite the song isn't it?) I would like to welcome Sister Mary Grammatica to my friends list. Welcome aboard Sister, the conga line starts on the Lido deck in twenty minutes; rosaries should be worn as Mardi Gras beads as I did as a child to my mother's dismay. I look forward to long discussions about proper use of the semi-colon and the fact that impact is a noun not a verb.

Well ladies it took me half an hour to come up with slightly over 350 words. Hard to believe I used to be so much more loquacious. Hopefully I will be again. Ta ta.

status update, do you know the way to san jose?
