As soon as I started thinking of this journal entry, I remembered s/thing from one of my all time favorite trilogies - The Matrix. In the first movie when he first goes to see the Oracle, a young boy teaches him that he can bend an object b/c it's really not there to begin w/.... "there is no spoon".
Many people judge others by using the "box analogy". Now, most of us know that the "box" is a metaphor for like-minded people, or 'sheeple' as I refer them as. People (sheeple) residing in this box follow the herd and conform to their society and do not want to do anything to step outside that box. The supposed danger zone resides outside the box and the sheeple don't feel confident enough w/in themselves to venture into those realms other than thoughts.
So we have people residing in their comfort zone, or the box, and then there are people that want to reach outside that box and when they step outside (into the light, heheh) they are very scared and want to cling to that box out of fear.
And then, you reach the non-conformists. These aren't deliberate rebels, but rather, a thought process has been reached in which they simply can't go back into the box. Not only are they thinking outside the box, but they LIVE outside the box and the conforming has now become more of a requirement to live - more like a strategy, imo. BUT, most of the time, you can spot a "non-conformist".
Getting back to the original thought of this entry, I came across a website that said s/thing I had never included in my perspective - and it was such a simple thought. (damn those obviously overlooked things!!)
There is no box.
Well goddamn!!! Problem solved! I relinquish my quest to understand the box! Fuck, if I had known that I could of solved so many problems a long time ago!1! lol
Either way, it's a great idea to ponder, much like many of the ideas were on the Matrix.
(Oh, and btw - if you're going to even ATTEMPT to do any bashing on my about the Matrix, I'm going to tell you to FUCK OFF right NOW b/c you obviously don't understand the metaphors in that movie that relate to how life is on this tiny pea of a planet. You think our governments control us? -or that they're even separate? Muahahahaha!!!! Teh be merely teh puppets. Whew!! So much to learn, padawans.)
