my mom called me because she started saying "BABY, BABY, BABY" outloud by herself on a car ride home and decided it was worth a call to me. it was. this is my life. .....as a covergirl.
i'm just going talk about things i've been obsessed with saying. falling out of favor is harlequin..it had a good run, and it still rolls off the tounge. it was soon followed by "let's party" in the kelly voice..which is still going. and now, NOW, it's
"Hookup, party n' pley" (in a midwestern accent..that's play by the way..) it has a bumpy rhythm to it. for those of you who watched the intervention episode with me you'll know it comes from the mouth of a meth addicted, HIV positive, sex addict who uses the line "looking to hook up, party, and play" in a voicemail on some sort of phone sex hook up network. let me just interject here and say the first time you watch an intervention episode it leaves you with a sad, sober, raw feeling...then when you watch the re-run you do a lot more laughing..maybe this is just related to the group setting i watch the show in. anyways, i was analyzing the meaning with vanessa and decided "hook up" was have sex, "party" was do drugs, and "play" i'm thinking is hookup on a group sex level. which is what the guy really wanted. YES i just wrote a paragraph about that and NO i don't capitalize my i's. the phrase is said fast and optimistically by the way. and it's pley, not play.
