summary Sometimes she doesn't believe this is real. Snippets from various points in the Doctor/Rose relationship. Randomness really.
He takes her breath away and she's not sure how to take it back. Funny words she doesn't understand and that knowing twinkle in his eye, he reduces her to that girlish glee.

This is real, she tells herself over and over again. Invisible marks on her wrist from when he clasped her tightly.

This is real, a mantra in her head when she can't quite see what exactly he's seeing. Rainbows in her head and that sweet sweet kiss full of gold.
***
Butterflies, a hundred and one butterflies for the days he's grazed over her as he reaches out to grab something he couldn't quite reach without skimming against her. A sly smile and she bites her lip.

This is real. A song in her head that she couldn't quite name until he sings it down to her. He completes her, she thinks, but the truth of the matter is the other way around. She completes him and he is grateful and knowing with each caress and smile and dazzling glance.

All of a sudden, she wants that breath back. That breath he stole and never quite replaced, not even with his warm hands. She wants it now because she is staring at where he disappeared. She can almost imagine his footprints. This is real, it is. It truly is.

This is real. A humdrum statement that makes her wish back to older days. This is real and reality sucks. A blue pill, a blue pill she jokes to herself and she wonders why she never asked him about that. If she had taken the blue pill and not the blue box she would have been okay. A butterfly with wings she never would have used.

This is real, she whispers. The other him, the reflection looks her with an absolute fear. Reality is not enough, she says through clenched fists, her lips unmoving. Reality really isn't enough.
