My first day of my career in a college... very nervous...I was introduced to a class by HOD..i gave my first lecture ! .. bit nervous..still it wasnt as bad as i had imagined...as days passed...got acquainted with the college, students, colleagues, work life, my portion...those days were hectic...i had been given a huge syllabus....i prepared notes..tried to justify my students as much as i could ...by making notes...my lectures...were not up to the mark...cuz i was still i fresher..at times i could not answer their questions cuz i did not possess the in depth knowledge of this subject...somehow i managed those days. We have lots of administrative work along with teaching. My first experience of invigilating..n i realized its much better to be a student n writing the exam instead of being a supervisor.. n just staring at students.. n doing nothing ...when one had such a lot of work to be done in the staff room.
The first time when i wore sari to college..cuz it was compulsory as it was a photo shoot day...the compliments from the students...made me forget abt my uneasiness of wearing it.
i had taken so much of extra classes to cover my portion..that the students got irritated with my taking extra classes.. but i had no option..Felt really good..the day i completed my syllabus.
The day i had to visit my own college ( where i studied ) n invite the professors n students for an event in my present college ( where i am teaching )... was such an experience which i cannot express...cuz this same college.. i used to be a student...feel lil lonely left out..n today am entering it as an asst. prof. of another college...it felt too good.
Farewell celebration in my college..first time i was on the other side of celebration...some voices of us asst. professors were played.. n student had to guess our voice... n it was infact surprising to note that student recognized it..(it was the only one answered correctly)..students wanted me to be there in their pics. The way i had approached my teachers to write few lines abt me in my schooldays...one or two students had come to me to write few lines abt them....i felt that yes i have achieved something in my life :-)
