I guess this is part 2

Hubby and I talked about my concerns. I was wrong, Hubby does want kids. However, I realized that Hubby and I are like that couple in Idiocracy, "We can't have a child right now. Not with the way the economy is."  Is it wrong that we want to be financially prepared before having a kid? Think about all the things that a child needs? It's not easy to raise a child on one income these days. Also thanks to my impending layoff approaching in the next few months, our future plans got pushed back (vacations, having kids, buying a home, etc). It's mind boggling to me how others do it? It seems like they just do it with no thought or planning what so ever. One of the biggest decisions you could make in your life and you didn't even prepare in advance? Not even a little bit? I guess I'm a freak or something because it makes no sense to me.
