"This-- this isn't working like this," Tsuna finally admitted. Gokudera stilled all of his movements and so the quickly went on, "I need to know that you're there. I need to see your face. Can't we do this with me on the back?"
"But then it could hurt more!"
"It hasn't hurt at all up to now. I think it will be okay," Tsuna tried to convince him. As that didn't seem to help any, he went on, "this isn't doing anything for you. I want to be able to touch you and make you feel good, too. And, and if you don't want to try, we'll just stop. That's fine, as well."
"I don't want you to think you have to do this for me," Gokudera replied and slowly let his fingers slip out again. Tsuna sighed softly at their loss, but all in all it wasn't even really a decision.
"It's not just that. I also really want try it with you. And it really didn't feel bad, it felt nearly good, really and I think it could feel a lot better. It has to or else people wouldn't be doing it at all, right?"
Gokudera wiped off the spilled lube of Tsuna's skin and his fingers. He let it fall to the floor and then slumped back onto the bed, landing next to Tsuna who had rolled over and promptly threw his arms around him. For a moment they just lay there, together. In silence.
"We could, try again sometime. If you want to," Gokudera eventually spoke up.
"Yeah?" Tsuna smiled, "If you want to as well?"
"I wouldn't have offered otherwise," Gokudera replied which both of them knew was a lie.
"Maybe we just need a bit of more practice?" Tsuna said, chuckling. Well, it wasn't like it was something new for him to fail at everything.
"Maybe," Gokudera agreed and kissed him.

Despite their best efforts, their next tries weren't all that more successful. Well, they managed to get Tsuna more and more frustrated, but other than that, they didn't achieve anything.
They had one night managed to get up to three fingers and it had been amazing. And there, exactly lay the problem. Tsuna had discovered that it could feel completely incredible and he liked it and he wanted more and every time his breathing hitched a bit too much or he gasped a little too loudly, which should be obviously good signs, Gokudera stopped, thinking he'd hurt Tsuna, thinking he'd done something wrong when, really, he'd done everything right. No matter how hard Tsuna tried to get him to understand that he felt fine, more than fine even, Gokudera didn't seem to quite believe him. That hurt actually, kind of a lot.
If they would now just stop trying altogether, if Tsuna wouldn't get to know that it could be really, really good and that it kind of just got better the more they did it, everything would be fine. Tsuna would just have to accept that this wasn't something he could have. That would be have been that. But no, Gokudera did want to try, because, even if he always freaked out right in the middle, he did actually understand that this was something that Tsuna liked, something Tsuna wanted. Therefore he wanted to try again and again. Unfortunately he also freaked out again and again. They had been caught in some kind of vicious circle with no end in sight. Which lead to Tsuna feel quite frustrated. It also made his head hurt when he thought about it too much.
It was just-- This was so stupid and Tsuna wanted to fix it, because now whenever they were alone it seemed like something was hanging over their heads, pressuring them and Tsuna wished everything would be like it was before, easy and comfortable and everything he could ever have hoped for. He needed to fix this, he just had no idea how to do that.
He pushed his rice absentmindedly around in his bowl. He hadn't even finished half of it, but he didn't really feel like eating anyway. Looking up, he noticed that Reborn and the children had already vanished upstairs without him even hearing them leave. His mother had already started to put the dishes away and put the leftovers of dinner into boxes to reheat tomorrow.
