The number of existing insulting hand signals is almost awe inspiring

An aspect of Stargate tech and SGA reality that I hadn't really considered before. Except that it would make for dull TV, they could do a show on someone frozen into immobility for fear of (accidentally) offending someone.

Most of the time I love playing with the sociological aspects of it all. So many cultures, so many possibilities for miscommunication (not to mention mortal insults! heh) and they never touch on it. They never really focus on the whole 'we are exiles, woe is us' bit much either. Which could have been so much more vital to the storyline, ya know? I mean, if they'd really been out there to establish themselves as a viable colony instead of just an outpost... *plays happily with the various plotbunnies* Tis why I love this fandom so. ^_^
