Summary: Sometimes, you just have to know how to ask
“You have to go.”
“You have to get out of my face.”
There was a pop, a hiss, and then Gokudera was lazily holding a burning stick of dynamite up, pinching it between his first and second fingers as though it were a cigarette. Yamamoto didn’t move, he just looked down at the angry explosives expert who was lounging against a tree in the park.
“Come on, it’s Sasagawa’s birthday.”
Gokudera bent down his first finger, but in case both his posture and the gesture weren’t enough, he added, “Why should I go listen to that idiot shout and bug the Tenth to join his stupid boxing team?”
There were so many answers Yamamoto could have given, answers about friendship and supporting the family. But instead, he only grinned and said, “I hear Tsuna’s considering it. Even though boxing can be an awfully dangerous sport…”
One quick flick sent the bomb spiraling away. It landed in the stream, where it exploded and sent up a spray of water. “What?” he said as he jumped to his feet, eyes blazing like the coals on the end of his cigarette. “He can’t… that idiot… if the Tenth gets… come on, we got a party to get to.”
Chuckling to himself, Yamamoto followed along. Sometime it was just too easy.
