So - end of the year, and it's been a good one. Started new job, so no longer allowed to work in my underwear (but shorts & slops are OK).
Tried DMing again - wasn't perfect, but something to revisit.
Some friends got married - yeah, "One of us! One of Us!". Hope they're having a good time on their delayed honeymoon.
khoi_kid turned 5 yesterday. She's getting more articulate with each passing day. Scary.
Rumours are my wife is getting "us"(heh!) a Wii for Xmas. So this's my last blog post ever, I'm sure.
Oh, yeah, saw Avatar - 3D. You've heard it all before, I'm sure: storyline didn't blow me away, visuals certainly did.
Cameron's love for SCUBA comes through in the setting, and how! Worth watching, not the second coming of movies but close, really close. Seamless integration of CGI and live, I only ever had one second of "That's CGI!" disbelief, which, for a visual geek like me, is unheard of. No uncanny valley moments at all. Definitely worth watching in 3D if you can, Cameron used it just right, to increase the realism and not for gimmick value. Little touches like sparks from a fire blowing in the wind, that kind of thing.
Cast was uniformly excellent, even the overly 2D evil villain. Oh, and now crushing on Michelle Rodriguez again. She should be made to wear only tank tops ever, though.
