oh tony...

So, Tony Stark kind of owns my soul. LOL. He's my new Batman. Except, he appeals much more to me now than Bruce does, because Bruce spends most of his time in the dark being dark and broody, and Tony says fuck it, I'm gonna get fucking drunk and fuck a bunch of chicks. LMFAO. Okay, that's a generalization, but whatever. I love Bruce Wayne, I do, but I'm glomping on Tony right now. When Dark Knight comes out, I may have to say they're tied, but right now, Tony's ahead.

I saw Iron Man in the theater finally, with my Dad. My Dad who was completely embarrassing, laughed at shit that I found funny but no one else in the theater did, and VERY LOUDLY, and talked back at the screen. It was absolutely awesome. GOSH I love my dorky ass Dad! The only bad thing about seeing it in the theater with my Dad is that it's awesome on my computer, Tony/RDJ is of course sexy on my computer, but on the big screen? The movie is pure, unadulterated SEX. RDJ has never looked sexier than in Iron Man as shown in the theater in surround sound ten miles wide. LOL. Good GOD. I was in full on lust mode, and then there's Dad next to me, going "Heh, you're right, Tony Stark is the shit. I fucking love this."

My favorite part is when Obie goes to the desert and we find out he orchestrated the whole thing, my Dad goes, completely outraged, "Oh, you motherfucking BASTARD!" Very loud. In the completely silent theater. Don't worry, the theater goers love my Dad too, he had them rolling with him.

He also jumped up to his feet, cackling, and clapping, when Tony said "... I AM Iron Man." HE'S SO EMBARRASSING! I wouldn't have it any other way.

Let me just deviate here for a moment into RDJ non-Iron Man related news: I found this incredibly, wonderfully long interview with his father, Robert Downey Sr, on youtube. It's amazing to see the similarities between the two. It's not obvious, I don't think you'd know unless you knew it was his father, but... the way he speaks, how he moves his head, the laugh, the eyes, the mouth, right down to his blunt and complete honesty (it's always floored me how painfully honest RDJ can be about things, in ways that hardly anyone is anymore) and it's just lovely.

Anyway. Back to Iron Man. Have you guys read the Marvel arc Civil War? I haven't, not completely all the way through, but I read the Iron Man arc of it, and it's so completely and utterly fucking devastating. It's oh, God, devastating. Just. OH. GOD. I felt like my soul was bleeding for Tony. It made me cry, ya'll. Three times. LOL. And then I found this video on youtube and it made me cry a fourth time. It's possible I'm overly emotional, but for what reason I don't know.

How RDJ played Iron Man in the movie, and how Iron Man is portrayed in this particular arc, is dead on. I can't speak to how he's portrayed in other comics, but he is dead on in comparison to this. Or maybe it's just that I was able to plant RDJ into the Tony Stark easily, I don't know, but it was just... yes. And I mean. There's this part, in one of them, that it says "Tony Stark. Never Alone. Always Alone." And then, later, it says, "Always Alone." And then it shows a bottle of whiskey, and next to it: "Never Alone." UGH. MY HEART.

If there's an interest I can upload the Iron Man parts. I'd upload the whole thing, but it's gargantuan, and anyway, you can find it on torrents here, which is where I got it. Maybe I might upload it in multiple parts once I figure out the order and shit. Or maybe just download that torrent above, because it's better than the one I got it off of.
