Why the fuck am I awake? Answer: No clue. LOL. I was up late late last night celebrating the New Year... which, by the way, HAPPY NEW YEAR EVERYBODY!!! WOOOOT! Anyway, I think I'll be going back to sleep shortly, if I can, because 5 hours of sleep needs about 4 more on a day off.
Anyway, the point of this post:
BURBANK - December 18, 2007 - NBC will provide USA Network hits "Monk" and "Psych" -- two of basic cable television's most successful and popular series -- with a broad new platform from which to expand their loyal audiences when it repurposes both series starting with upcoming new episodes to be shown first on USA in January 2008 and then again on Sunday nights on NBC beginning in March 2008, it was announced today by Ben Silverman, Co-Chairman, NBC Entertainment and Universal Media Studios, Marc Graboff, Co-Chairman, NBC Entertainment and Universal Media Studios and Bonnie Hammer, President, USA Network and SCI FI Channel.
Okay, hold on... 1) Awesome, a wider audience for Psych! And Monk too, which I keep meaning to see, but haven't. But 2) Repurposes? Um, excuse me, that doesn't mean what I think it means, right? It does not, in any way shape or form mean that it will either be cut down to a half an hour (I LIKE the fact that Psych is an hour long comedy) or "tailored" to appeal to a larger audience, right? They're really not going to fuck with my show because they're greedy assholes that won't pay their writers, are they. Like scaling down the comedy and adding some drama? Like making the comedy less "ok what the fuck was that, I don't know but I'm giggling" to "cerebral" and "highbrow". I like my show just the fucking way it is, I swear to God do not take away my favorite show because you're greedy, NBC, and want to keep viewers. Don't do it, or I'll boycott NBC PERIOD.
