yay for four hours of sleep...

Sep 24, 2007 04:42

I can't seem to sleep more than four hours tonight, and so I'm up now.

Okay. I am so furious at this point. So I've heard of the Don't Tase Me Bro thing on the radio several times, ya know, just basically as a joke, ha ha, isn't that funny, don't tase me bro, har har. I didn't know what was going on, as far as I'd known before about five minutes ago was that someone went scary at a Kerry speech and he got tasered.

Exsqueeze me? Really? He went crazy? He asked questions, and yeah, he rambled on, but dude, he asked valid questions, Kerry said let me answer them, the cops dragged him while he was screaming help, and then they tasered him for a VERY long time (from what I can tell, you can hear the sparks of the tazer) in my opinion, and then they proceed to treat him like he's a terrorist that had a bomb strapped to his fucking chest.

Okay, so you've got a politically active student that yeah, whatever, was confrontational with an Important Person (in a, while not particularly respectuful way, not unrespectful way) and when he started being dragged away with force by four policemen he tried to pull away. Does that deserve a fucking taser and an arrest? Um. No, how about.

This is the video that I watched it from, which seems to be the most complete, and you can follow it up by this one.

Can someone explain to me why I shouldn't be fucking outraged? I would be out there protesting if I went to that university, with my signs and markers.

Inciting a riot. WTF.

It's entirely possible that I'm so upset about it due to lack of sleep, but I don't think so.

ETA: By the way, yes, indeed this does piss me off at Kerry, because while at first he said "let me answer the question", while it was going on he did and said nothing to tell the cops to back off. He's up there with a microphone, where was the "excuse me, officers, I believe this kid had a valid question and I'd ask you to allow him to hear my answer." Where the fuck was that?
