okay, wow...

I just saw The Departed at the movie theater with my folks. Wow, that was a good movie. I swear to you, it's the best movie I've seen in maybe 5 years. Like, Traffic was the last Really Great Fucking Movie I saw in the theaters. I think a lot of it has to do with the fact that I had no expectations. None. I didn't even know what it was about. I saw the trailer once, saw that it had Matt Damon, Marky Mark, & Jack Nicholson in it, knew I had to see it, and then never watched it again when it came on. Because when you get hyped up, the movie inevitably lets you down. You wanna know how good it was?

My thoughts on Leo DiCaprio before the movie: God, I can't stand him. Little primadonna fuck. Thinks he's so good. Yeah, yeah, he's a good actor, I'll give him that, but... he ain't all that, and he's WAY too prettyboy for me.

My thoughts on Leo DiCaprio after the movie: Uh. When the fuck did Leo get to be such a hotass?! Holy motherfucking GOD.

I never, ever, ever thought that in a movie with Mark Wahlberg (who's also an ass[and whom I will always refer to as Marky Mark precisely because he HATES that], but I always enjoy in movies, and has a KILLER FUCKING BODY), Matt Damon (who has the best smile in the fucking world), & Leo DiCaprio, I'd leave going "holy hell was Leo fucking great." LOL.

My distaste for Leo goes all the way back to Titanic, when he had that snit fit about Kate getting nom'd for an Oscar and went all wah wah about it and didn't go to the Oscars to support his castmate.

This 2.5 hour movie (which by the way, definitely needed all 2.5 hours, and I can't think of one scene that could've been cut) totally changed my mind on him. Do you know how often that happens? Um. NEVER. He might still be a twat as a person, I don't know, but I am feeling the definite urge to get myself an icon and see some Leo DiCaprio movies.

I won't spoil you for the movie, but it is my opinion that everyone and their brother should see this movie. It's so good you guys. Me and my parents spent ALL of dinner babbling about it, and they NEVER want to talk about a movie after it's over.

The plot was twisted as fuck, it was raw, the dialogue was excellent, the humor was great, the acting was Oscar caliber, and the only problem I had with it was some bad Boston accents (Alec Baldwin and Martin Sheen being the worst at it, oh my god, Martin, never ever do a Boston accent again, kay?).

And the ending? Oh. The ending. Do you know what I feel for this movie? Respect. That is so fucking RARE. But yeah. I feel RESPECT for this movie.
