I had no idea I was going to write this. I was watching the movie again today, because I love it, and because I'm going through a Johnny Depp infatuation type thing (which I'm prone to doing every now and again). I know there's a pretty big Sparrow/Turner slash following, and I have to admit... There's just something about the way Johnny moves (in particular in this movie, but just in general as well) that begs for slash. I wanted to write a slash story, but it wound up being platonic. Oh well. I KINDA like it anyway... LOL!
And anyone suggest a couple of good fics? They don't have to be NC-17, but those wouldn't be dismissed... I actually do prefer R, where it's more innuendo than porn talk.
Title: Chivalry
Fandom: Pirates of the Carribean
Rated: PG
Synopsis: Will needs a good talking to about his lady love, and Jack's just the man with no inhibitions to do it.
Notes: I don't have the pirate-speak down, so I didn't even try. If I did, it would look hackneyed, and if there's one thing I can't stand, it's hackneyed shit. So, therefore, their speaking may be a little off character... sorry. Just for fun anyway, right?
“Jack,” Will said, sitting next to him and hugging his legs to his chest. “My father… was he a good man?”
Jack smiled slightly, looking at the younger boy. “He was indeed,” he said softly. “Only one who was truly my mate.”
Will nodded, licking his lips. “Then he didn’t…”
“Participate in the mutiny,” Jack asked, raising an eyebrow at him. “No. Don’t even think they told him about it.”
Rocking forward slightly, Will stared past Jack at Elizabeth as she sat next to Norrington. “I can’t help but think there was more I could have done,” he said softly.
Jack laughed, shaking his head. “You speak as if it’s over, young Turner.”
Will looked at him, frowning. “It is over… she’s marrying Norrington.”
“To save you,” Jack said, raising an eyebrow at him. “She agreed to marry Norrington to save you.”
Will shrugged. “It hardly matters why now.”
Jack threw an arm around Will’s neck, leaning closer to him. “Those are the words of a fool, Will.”
“I’m a blacksmith, Jack,” Will said, avoiding Jack’s steady gaze. “She’s better off…”
“Oh, bugger that,” Jack said, laughing and dropping his arm from Will’s shoulders. “Have a defeatest attitude and you’ll be defeated.”
“So what do you suggest I do,” Will asked, looking at him.
Jack smiled. “What do I suggest you do, or what would I do?”
“Either,” Will said, shrugging.
“Me, personally, I would sweep her off in the middle of the night and carry her onto my ship,” he said, grinning. “But you? You could probably get away with just telling her.”
“I can’t,” Will said, shaking his head.
“Why can’t you,” Jack asked, his brows furrowed with confusion. “You suddenly have no tongue?”
Will laughed slightly, looking back over at Elizabeth. “I can’t bear the thought of her saying no…”
Jack rolled his eyes. “You’re worthless, you know that,” he said, gathering up his feet and standing. “There’s no helping you.”
Will stood, grabbing Jack’s arm. “What? What do you want me to do?!”
Jack laughed, throwing an arm around Will’s shoulders and turning them away from the peering eyes of the shipmates. “You can’t tell her because you can’t bear the thought of her rejecting you,” he hissed at him. “I never knew you were such a coward, what with your gallant crusade to save her from the Black Pearl. Almost had me convinced you were chivalry personified, you did.”
Will frowned, biting his lip. “You really think she returns my feelings?”
Jack nodded slowly, catching his eyes. “It’s unmistakingly obvious, love. The girl loves you.”
Will nods, glancing once again at her figure on deck. “What will you do when we dock,” he asked, lowering his voice. “Will you stay, or will you go?”
Jack laughed, shaking his head. “Stay? I’ve never been the staying sort, young Turner. The sea calls my name, and I’m hers.”
“Well,” Will said, smiling at him. “I’ll miss you.”
Jack frowned at him, furrowing his brow. “You’ll miss me?”
Will nodded. “You’ve taught me more about my true nature than I’ve learned my whole life.”
Jack laughed, brushing a hand through Will’s hair. “It’s nothing you wouldn’t have learned on your own eventually.”
“Just the same, Jack…”
Jack nodded, leaning forward and kissing Will’s temple lightly before retreating back a few steps. “Consider it returned, young Turner,” he said, winking at him. “Now I’m off to find me some Rum… can’t have a sober pirate on our hands, can we?”
** big thanks to Pond for pointing out my misspelling of bear as bare... see, that's all I'm talking about with constructive criticism. I LOVE constructive criticism.
