I met the new girl. Her name is Kelli, she is 19 (but looks a little younger), really nice, and learns pretty quickly. Stupid Corwin kicked her off the computer when he came in. He's like, "How long are you going to be no the computer? I came in an hour early to do some training." What an ass. LoL jk. She got off and learned how to work on register one with Bryan. He said that she's really into cars and since he's really into cars, he thinks she's cool. She'll be working between the registers and the photo lab when she gets trained in for the lab. She's not cute like Ashley, but she's not ugly. Overall, I really like her and I'm sure we'll get along.
Speaking of Ashley, though, OMG we actually WORK TOGETHER tomorrow!!! Because we're both in cosmetics, the most we ever see each other is for a half hour every so often. The only time two beauty advisors work together is when the night person comes in a half hour before the morning person leaves. But we lucked out for tomorrow. For some reason, I'm coming up as unavailable for Fridays in the computer so Myers put Ashley on the morning shift and Sue on the night shift. Then he asked me about it and I said I was avaiable on Fridays and since Pat (she's an older lady that works on register one) needed someone to work for her, he scheduled me to cover for her. The thing is, though, he doesn't want me on one all day because Friday is our warehouse day where we get all of our shipments and need to put everything away. Ashley is good at it, but she's still learning, so I'm obviously going to go through it quicker than she would. And since it's gonna be Sue coming in at night, we need to get as many done in the morning so that she doesn't have so many to do because 9 times out of 10, I'm stuck with whatever she didn't do and I don't have time to waste Saturday morning finishing her totes, you know what I mean? Soooo tomorrow, I'll be on register one until the trucks come and then when they start bring out the cosmetic totes, Ashley and I are gonna switch positions and I'll do totes while she's on one.
Sue... man... that woman, I tell ya! She always says she wants a big list of things to do so she's not sittin around all bored with nothing to do, and that's understandable because it DOES get really boring if all you're doing is ringing up customers. And what happens if it isn't very busy? You just stand there like la de da, walk around, and have nothing to do! SO she comes in Sunday afternoon and is like, "Got a big list for me?" and I'm like, "No, but I have ONE thing for you to do that will probably take a few hours and between doing this and helping customers, you'll stay busy until it's time to start straightening aisles." I'm going to explain it so you guys understand what I'm talking about and then tell you what she had to do LOL. You ever go into a store and since you know where something is, that's where you go to look, but you find that it's now in another place, whether it's just down a little further in the aisle or in a completely different spot? That happens because room needs to be made for new products that just came in, so really you're just moving thnigs over to the next shelf or whatever and that's what she had to do. She had about 8 shelves to do. She has the sheet to show her what goes where and the mylars (the price tags on the shelves) are in place for her because I put them there. I'm explaining to her how to do it, I SHOW her how to do it, I do it WITH her so I know she knows how to do it, and I WATCH her do it so I know she knows how to do it. Before I leave, I'm like, "So you know what to do now, right?" and she's like, "Yeah, I got it. If I have questions, I'll just ask Bill." SO I leave and in about an hour, I come back to grab my food out of the break room and guess where I find her? IN ANOTHER AISLE... DUSTING! I don't think she saw me until I was like, "So how's it going?" and she was like, "You tell me..." and goes back over there to start working on it again. I was sittin there like, wow... are you kidding me? I go in the next morning and not even one shelf is done. *Anger* And yesterday when I was asking Tony about Sunday night, he told me that Sue went up to him and was like, "Can I help you with anything? I don't have anything to do." I was like, "Are you serious?" and I showed him what I had told her to do. I was already annoyed by having to always finish the work of others (which is what I was doing when I was talking to Tony and thankfully he was helping me) because they do things so half assed that it's like... AHHHHH!... so that just bothered me even more. Bryan and I talked about it, though, and we both agreed that Sue is the type of person who will be like, I didn't do it and that's why it's still there, as opposed to other people who might blame other people for things and not take the blame when it's obviously for them to take. I'm gonna ask her Friday what the hell happened and I wanna see if she tells me the same thing Tony told me because Tony isn't gonna lie to me, so the least Sue can do is show me some respect by telling me the truth. I even told Myers about it and he looked SO annoyed and told me that he was gonna start puttin her on register one when she works and not really hve her in cosmetics because she doesn't do very much for it.
It's frustrating when you have such a high work ethic and put out so much effort and you're not getting the same in return. Lori has been there for five years and still does things half assed at times. And I swear she'll always leave me dirty totes to clean if I work after her. It's always "There's a dirty tote I left aside. I was gonna clean it, but it's time for me to go home now." Don't get me wrong... Lori does a GREAT job with sales and making money, and following a list of things to do, but when it comes to a few other things, it's like, STOP HALF ASSIN' EVERYTHING AND JUST DO IT! Then there is Helen, who is the sweetest lady EVER and you could never be mad at her. She's really good with customers and really likes to clean, but she doesn't mess around with resets (what Sue was supposed to be doing Sunday) or anything like that. She also doesn't work very often, though, so it really doesn't matter. I think she only comes in once a week. Ashley... I love Ashley. She's still learning so she might take a while to get something done, but she'll get it done. She worked on the reset after me on Saturday and managed to get 4 shleves done in a couple of hours before she had to start haning ad tags, which she got done by the end of the night, and STILL did a great job straightening. (Sue can't straighten for shit, I'm sorry. She came in claiming that it was her favorite thing to do and she sucks. LOL) And she's still getting the hang of ringing people up and making PMs and all that good stuff. I am SO glad she is there. Too bad school is starting soon and she might not be around as much. :'(
During closing, Jeff told me that Chris isn't leaving for Iraq anymore. Jeeze. His unit leader or whomever is in charge of things needs to figure out what the hell is going on!!!! I'm glad he's not leaving, though. He needs to be home with his newborn son who is insanely cute. If you wanna know what he looks like, go to my myspace friends list and he should be on the last page under the name CFRESH. We're still getting another assistant manager, though.
When Jeremy came and picked me up at the end of the night, he goes, "Hurry up, there's a car stopped down the street and the police have their guns pulled out..." so we go to see what's happenin' and I think Bryan even went to go check it out. Driving by, though, there were two big guys sittin' in their car, not getting out, and the cops were standing back waiting. No guns, though. We're gonna look in the local newspaper to see if it's in there because police logs are always in there. I wanna know what went down!!!
