ATCs!

yeah, so nevarraven made her post about ATCs (linking to neogeen's post about them, which is full of awesome information), and that bug bit me pretty hard. i'll be nice and lj-cut these. there are eight in this post, and the first four are the wrong size (and have uneven edges). i'm chalking that mistake up to experience, because they turned out awesome. :(

sparrow-dragon shaman. the sketch made him look angry or troubled, but the finished version turned out somewhat joyous or surprised. i don't know why that happens. o_O

brooding mother. i like my sparrowdragons. :3 also, you can see my uneven cutting at the bottom there... but when i tried to crop it straight, i lost most of the tail and part of the dragony lower wing. see what i mean about losing detail? :/ i wish i'd bothered to think of using a Magic card as a cutting guide first.

ah well.

trapped! lol, he's trapped in a box and the box is a card. i was rather amused. had to resort to ballpoint pen with this one to do some lines after coloring, though.

the fae king. i wanted to do an elf. ::shrug:: this one is reeeeeally uneven around the edges, but it looked okay with cropping via photoshop, unlike the sparrowdragon.

first in the properly-cut batch. i busted out some sparkly gel-pens for this, because this isn't really mine -- it's an enemy from Lunar Knights. I don't remember the name for it, but it first appears in New Culiacan, one room above the room you start in toward the north exit. it's a spawning enemy, it licks you, it spits poison after you've wounded it, and it's adorable as all shit. :3

curly-dragon. i wanted to do something more stylized to let the gel-pens do their shiny thing.

Nevarraven's greencat! hope you don't mind, and i know the anatomy's not the best, but i wanted to do a cat and the odd grin he ended up with reminded me of yours. there's sparkly green in his spots, and yellow and orange around the outside of 'im. he looks better in person than in the scan. :/

Dan asked me for a shy-guy card. lol, he's about to get dizzy. >:D

i had a lot of fun doing these -- it's fun to do something on a small enough scale to where you can pretty much do anything you want and not have to worry about getting sucked into some long, drawn-out ordeal to finish it.

i should go do more. and then maybe try to find someone willing to trade, lol.
