#35: Would you give up half of what you own now for a pill that would permanently change you so that one hour of sleep each day would fully refresh you?
Do you feel you have enough time?
If not, what would give you that feeling?
How much has your attitude about time changed as you've aged?
Half of zero is zero, so yes I would. Enough time for what? To do more stuff? Right now I feel like I have too much time for things to happen and not enough for sleep so this pill would work for me. I used to want to do stuff every second of every day. I used to hate to be bored. Now I pray for boredom.
#36: If you knew you could devote yourself to any single occupation-music, writing, acting, business, politics, medicine, etc.-and be among the best and most successful in the world at it, what would you choose?
If you knew you only had a 10 percent chance of being successful, would you still put in the effort?
Cooking. 10% chance? I can work with those odds. Yes.
#37: What was your best experience with drugs or alcohol? Your worst experience?
Best experiences with alcohol? Hmm...I've had lots of fun and debauchery thanks to alcohol. I was super drunk when Ruby was conceived. That will be my answer.
Drugs - 1/2 a hit of acid one time. It was awful. Was scared of street lights for a month afterward for some reason, don't know why.
#38: If you were invited to a dinner party and were offered a dish you had never tried, would you want to taste it even if it sounded strange and not very appealing?
Yes. Some of the best food ever has been food I've never had before.
#39: Do your close friends tend to be older or younger than you?
What kind of people do you like to spend time with?
What do such people bring out in you that others do not?
What can people learn about you by looking at your friends?
I'm usually the young one.
Weird, geeky, intelligent people are my kin.
Conversation and interest.
That I'm an excellent judge of character and have great taste in friends. Ooo and that I must be awesome because they are all so awesome.
#40: If the person you were engaged to marry had an accident and became a paraplegic, would you go through with the marriage or back out of it?
Don't know. When I was pregnant was Ruby I was seriously terrified something was going to be mentally wrong with her. Just an irrational mommy fear. I mostly terrified because I really don't believe I'm strong enough to be able to care for a special needs child. I don't think I'd be able to answer this question unless it really happened.
#41: Your house, containing everything you own, catches fire; after saving your loved ones and pets, you have time to safely make a final dash to save any one item. What would it be?
My computer. It has all of Ruby's pictures on it. All the wedding stuff/projects etc. My recipes, everything I care about. Since I don't have pets I think I should also be able to save my jewelry box.
#41: How would you react if you were to learn that your mate had had a lover of the same sex before you knew each other?
Have you ever been sexually attracted to someone of the same sex?
To someone in your family?
If so, how did you deal with it?
Well, he's already been tested so I'd be okay with it.
I can't say I have ever been sexually attracted to a woman. I've thought women are hot/beautiful but never so hot that I'd think about taking up diving. Ick.
When I was younger I thought some of my distant cousins were kind of cute, I am from Kentucky, yo. I didn't do anything about it. They're my cousins for god sake and I think I was 8 or nine. Not even sure that's technically sexual at all.
#42: When were you last in a fight? What caused it and who won?
A physical fight? Was with my sister. She was high. She was swinging at my mother and slapping her. I grabbed her scrawny little neck and pinned her up against the wall. I won.
#43: You are offered $1,000,000 for the following act: Before you are ten pistols-only one of which is loaded. You must pick up one of the pistols, point it at your forehead, and pull the trigger. If you can walk away you do so a millionaire. Would you accept the risk?
Nope. I seem to be missing the gene that people have who are able to jump out of planes and off of bridges and hurt themselves in any way possible. I have a very strong sense of self-preservation. Homicide before Suicide I always say :)
#45: Someone very close to you is in pain, paralyzed, and will die within a month. He begs you to give him poison so that he can die. Would you? What if it were your father?
Should it be illegal to help a terminally-ill person to die?
If someone is not dying but chronic pain, should the person be allowed to commit suicide?
What if the person is in emotional rather than physical pain?
Yes I would. Yes if it were my father. No it shouldn't be illegal. It should be regulated and monitored. There needs to be some kind of form involved and waiting period after a license to die is issued. As far as pain - will it every be cured? Is there any hope that it will go away at some point? If so, then no suicide. If not, like the end stages of sickle-cell, then here's your poison. Emotional pain - no - coward. Get some help and some medication and go through this life like the rest of us have to.
#40: When did you last sing to yourself? To someone else?
I sing every day. I sing to Ruby. I sing in the shower. I sing in the car. I hate singing in front of people though because though I've been told I sing on key and decently I don't believe anyone.
