It's been a long time but... this lockdown, I finally got my book about kids learning to sail a Mirror on Sydney Harbour into a state where I'm ready to release it.
This is something I have been working on and off on for a while. The idea actually started years ago when Liem was learning to sail in the original Shearwater. Now Liem is taller than me, and probably a better sailor too. In the meantime, we have all sorts of adventures together, exploring new waters, competing in championships and learning ever more about sailing (learning to sail is something you can do, but it's not something you ever stop doing).
The book is fiction, but large parts are based on actual experience. It is not as good as I would like, but it's as good as it's going to get in the current circumstances, so it's time to let it out into the world. Hopefully it will encourage a few more kids (and adults) to learn to sail in small boats like the Mirror.
