A Letter to Certain Aqua/Terra shippers
Dear Aqua/Terra shippers:
I must admit, it fills me with glee that you exist. A non-incestuous, non-selfcestuous, non-ephibophiliac het ship between two characters who don't want to kill each other, in my KH fandom? Yes please.
What does not fill me with glee is that some of you feel the need to make Terra into a naive uke who's completely unable to understand obvious innuendo and needs Aqua to thwack him over the head with a cluebat before he gets it.
Neither does the overly-aggressive Aqua that goes along with this. I don't see how you can think she's going to be frothing at the mouth to get anyone in bed - her reaction to Zack's offer of a date, just using the clip from the trailer, shows that she's pretty awkward and easily embarrassed as far as even light romance is concerned. And having her beat on Terra - usually for accidentally doing something perverted - makes just about as much sense (and leads me to wonder if you somehow managed to get her confused with Lightning).
And the sad thing is, it'd be a lot more interesting if you actually kept them true to canon. For one thing, a genuinely-equal het ship would be really awesome to see. For another, Terra and Aqua being Keyblade apprentices of the same Master who lived with each other and trained together practically every waking moment would probably make for some fun awkwardness if they did gain romantic feelings for each other.
In conclusion: Canon-based TerrAqua = yes. Seme Aqua/Uke Terra = wut.
