Okay. So, I'm needing to rant over a few things, mostly dealing with characterization and, well, people bitching about revealed canon personalities and such.
First, THANK YOU. your character analysis is spot on, every last bit of it, and as an RPer whose main muses are Vexen and Zexion... yeah. Yes, Vexen is loud-mouthed, he has as much of a temper as an emotionless person can... but he's also incredibly smart. He suffers from what i like to call "High INT low WIS" - really brilliant, but not terribly observant or conniving. He's not a schemer or manipulator like Zexion or Marluxia, much as he'd LIKE to be... but he's far from weak.
And Zexion, my god, fandom. I still believe that Zexion's one of the most dangerous organisation members. He almost kills Riku single-handedly without even raising a weapon, using sheer psychological torment to do it. Dude! In the original CoM he nearly kills you IN A CUTSCENE, WITH NO BOSSFIGHT. And in the new CoM, he still SURVIVES the bossfight with Riku, which is more than can be said for most everyone else in the castle.
As an aside for Zexion... I've been seeing a lot of players who play Ienzo as mute because he doesn't say anything in BBS, and who will throw an absolute fit if they see someone playing him as able to speak at all. What?! Yes, he's quiet, but Zexion is CLEARLY not mute, and the backstory is also explicitly clear that Ienzo is the one who convinced Ansem to go through with the experiments, and I doubt he did it in writing alone. Quiet? Sure! He's an orphan, he's probably suffering from some trauma connected to that, and he's grown up among scientists and probably hasn't had much of a real childhood. Mute? Fictional characters not talking doesn't mean they're mute. Argh.
You're quite lucky to have such an excellent RP group, by the way!
You're welcome. :3 I'm glad my character analysis is spot on for you. ^^
Vexen needs more love for who he is.
And dear God, Zexion frightens me. I hold that had he decided to team up with Marluxia, everyone would have been fucked.
As for Ienzo... I can see both. I've had him as mute in my fanfics where, don't kill me, I've done AU ships of Ienzo and Sora in peaceful times is adorable already, but add in the fact that, suddenly, one doesn't talk. There's a more subtle communication there, and it's fun to work with. However, I have also written him as talking--it depends on which "universe" I'm writing the fic in, really.
That doesn't give anyone the right to bitch about an otherwise IC character when it's something as ambiguous as a child whose parents died speaking when I don't believe it's stated that he's explicitly mute. (Granted, though, just because Zexion can talk doesn't mean Ienzo necessarily could.)
And I'm so happy to have found it. It made me so happy to find so much CANON in one place!
I suppose. Personally, I play him as having selective mutism - he's capable of speaking, he just avoids it entirely except with certain people, and even then he'll be taciturn. On the other hand, I know that when I finally app him, he's going to abuse the heck out of the text function on the communicator and write very verbose posts. I also agree that mute characters can be interesting to play/write - I play a mute OC at one of my games, and it's very difficult but ultimately quite rewarding to figure out how she can 'talk' to people when she can't speak.
I think it's more that I hate the "YOUR CANON IS WRONG" reaction that I get from so many KH fans in regards to headcanon. Most of my older fandoms don't do that and I'm like... can't people have their own interpretations?
Yeah, it's always lovely when you find that. My own RP has a pretty damn stellar cast - we've got one or two players who are a little shakey (I won't name them here) but I'm so looking forward to throwing little Ienzo at the Organisation.
YESSSS. Zexion: the last person you want to meet in a dark alley, because, quite frankly, if you're in a dark alley with him, then he's likely there to mindfuck you into oblivion.
My favorite part in my IenSo Valentine's Day fic was actually near the end when I described various gestures and what it meant to them. Body language: easier to write when the character can't talk otherwise.
Yeah, I hate that. I'm writing Vexen x Lucrecia Crescent stuff, and I'm just WAITING for the bitchfit I know I'll get from some 411 fans who will whine about the "twu wuv" between Vexen and Marluxia, regardless of the fact that I've thought my pairing and fic out and how they fit together. >/ (Also, if you don't like it, WHY THE FUCK ARE YOU READING IT?)
Especially since it's on Gaia, and most RPs that are high school with the Org tend to fuck up a majority of the cast. Especially Xemnas and Zexion. But, dear God, they're amazing. Only Aqua to complain about, and I think she left so I *MIGHT* take her up in order to play a canon along with my OC. (Ironically, both would be friends with Terra.)
I've always liked Lucrecia a considerable bit (read as: I played Dirge of Cerberus and loved her. <3) but her husband has always creeped me out, Vincent isn't an option and Grimoire is quite dead.
I was annoyed by her at first, but then she grew on me as I watched her character with more depth. Hojo... ...Dear God, I need to write chapter three. xD Hojo vs. Vexen.
Vince always struck me as a brother figure, and she only "loved" him as more out of sheer guilt. Gromoire always seemed like an adoptive daddy. :3
Yeah, she seemed like a total bitch. ...And then you find out WHY everything happened and go, "DDDD:" Especially on the suicide, because the way she talks, she was mentally and physically deteriorating. And not just in the normal post-childbirth way. It seems she was just trying to end her own misery and failed. D:
xDDD Kinda like Ansem the Wise? ...OHSHIT, NEW FRIENDSHIP MADE.
Just finished chapter one. Once I finish chapter two, a review will be submitted. :3
I mostly click with pre-canon Lucrecia. Just the whole, "EEE! OMG SCIENCE! <3" fits so very very well with me. ^^
Dear God... :D Somewhere, there is a council of mentor-leader figures around a conference table, plotting how to do good and it is led by Grimoire Valetine. Meanwhile, Sephiroth has assembled a council of villains at his house and they mostly just sit around and chat about each other's hair and the varying degrees of difficulty of maintenance. And Sephy just hates it. XDDD
I hope you enjoy it. <3 That's all I want. Enjoyment.
Lucrecia needs more love, honestly. Most people gom "OMG u hurt Vincint i h8 u bitch!" When, honestly, she's a victim of circumstance, and, without her, dearies, Vinny wouldn't have survived long enough to have his own game or be awesome in the original. <3
xD See, I just imagine Ansem the Wise and Grimoire sitting at a bar, drinking and lamenting over the stupid shit their "kids" do. Like Lucy getting involved with Hojo! Or Vinny being a naive Turk! ...Or Braig blowing up the labs for the 8975989659278678593286595667 time.
See, I don't mind if people dislike her. It just seems kinda stupid when they hate her fore the sole purpose of, "She screwed up Vincent." ...Vinny kinda helped get to that point~
xD OH GOD. That needs to be written. Arranged marriage, anyone? This doesn't help my Victorian muses from the one vampire RP I'm in. Goddammit.

Can I get a link when that's finished? :DDD I've only read one thing so far and it was squicky in terms of when exactly Vexen got to her.

(I also started a group for it on DA. <3)
Still. It's nice to see other people who like that pairing. <33333

I never really thought much about her except, "Wow... Really, woman? Really?" until I finished Dirge. Now I'm quite the fan.
I get the feeling Grimoire was everyone's adoptive daddy. :DDD
