Two things I hate
1. Fics that are decent until someone (like the main character) falls in love. Suddenly ~*~nothing else matters~*~, especially not characterization.
2. Fics that ship everyone (doubly if they all suddenly get together around the same time). Falling in love does not have a lemming effect, and if you're going for realism, I'm not sure making everyone and their brothers gay is really going to fly.
