It's mostly because werewolves transform/become effected by the moon, particularly when it's full. Saix becomes beserk/shows his inner nature when he's powered by Kingdom Hearts/the moon.

Yeah, I dunno. That's the explanation I receive, but just because he gains power from the moon doesn't mean he's a WEREWOLF.
