With Thanksgiving a few days away (at least here in the U.S; Happy Belated Turkey Day for those who have already celebrated it!), the year quickly (but not quick enough :P) drawing to a close, and keeping in the spirit of the Thanksgiving, we thought it might be a nice time to reflect on those things you are grateful for in the Kingdom Hearts Fandom (Oh, don't give me that look. You know you're grateful for SOMETHING, no matter how batshit the fandom is XD).
I'll start! I'm thankful for...
-...well, the game itself, actually XD. I don't know how many of you knew this, but a few years ago before KH came out, Disney was trying to make a movie called "The Search For Mickey Mouse" featuring Basil from The Great Mouse Detective and at least one character from EVERY animated Disney film to that date, aka, A GIANT DISNEY MOVIE CROSSOVER OF EPIC PROPOTIONS! YAY! ...but production didn't get too far, I hear, because with that many different animated styles next to each other with no fluid connection it would have looked kind of horrible (and a nightmare to draw that many styles in one film, yeesh). Not to mention there was something about the plot not being completely workable, and what to DO with all those characters, and yeah. It was a great idea and it's not like it was completely impossible (House of Mouse, anyone?), but it just needed work and time that I don't think the company had to spare.
Then Kingdom Hearts comes along and the rest is history. You have three parts composing this one game where all three are interacting damn near seamlessly. I really don't think the concept of blending all those together is something anyone would have ever come up with, so I guess I should also be thankful for the entire team who worked on Kingdom Hearts for taking that big a risk on such a crazy idea. These games have given me hours of numerous memories playing through them that I'd never give up for anything....ok, so I might give up hearing the phrases "DANCE, WATER! DANCE!" and "GET UP ON THE HYDRA'S BACK!!" 9,000 times, but I'd keep the rest xD
...alright, and maybe fighting those buggy cars in Timeless River. Maybe.
-Mr. Nomura for continuing to unfold the mystery and enimga that is my favorite character Roxas...but then I'd also take away some of his Thanksgiving pie for introducing that whole Ven thing cause seriously--WHAT THE HELL IS THAT ABOUT?!
-And last but not least I am thankful for the hypocritical, elitist, puppy dog eating, jerkface, moronic, arrogant, self appointed fandom police officers, spineless, evil, high and mighty, heartless, demonic, selfish, stupid, cruel, whiny assholes perceived as the members of
khfanficrants by the rest of fandom and other trolls, haters, your mom, ex-members, still members, people who aren't even in this fandom wtf, whoever! Be the drama that may form because of this place being in existence, some of the most awesome people I've ever met online has been in this community and this fandom, and I'm sure some of you can say the same. I can't even recall half the nights I've spent having the most absolutely insane conversations with some of you xD. I've even had the chance to meet a few of you in person (with more to come), which not everyone gets to do! It may get a little crazy around here at times and this place isn't the most popular spot on the internet, but hey--what can you do? <3 :D
So let's hear it! Fanart, fanfic, communities, friends, cons, happy memories, cracky memories that make you smile, cosplay, whatever. Let's hear what you're thankful for in fandom! (Didn't I tell you to stop giving me that look? XD)
AND HAPPY THANKSGIVING!!
