I figured out why Cheese!Demyx (aka crazy crack hyper demyx) doesn't work.
It's because Foster's Home for Imaginary Friends is not Kingdom Hearts. Sure, Cheese (the yellow blobby thing that seems to be missing his brain) is funny in all his randomness. But the thing is, Cheese is not Demyx. That brand of humor doesn't work for Demyx because YOU CANT COPY PASTE CHARACTERIZATION LIKE THAT.
The same applies for Fairly Odd Parents. Sure, Cosmo is hilarious by just being himself. But Sora/Demyx/Roxas/Insert-Character-Here is NOT COSMO. (And lets face it, Sora and Demyx would make TERRIBLE fairy godparents).
The same also applies for Invader Zim. Last I checked, Demyx was not an alien-made robot in a green dog suit.
So why does this bug me so much, and why is it so ubiquitous?
It would seem that fanbrats have not grasped the fine art of being funny. Rather, they just steal jokes from shows they got a chuckle out of and stick it into their fics.
So please, fanbrats. Learn the art of humor - y'know, timing, slapstick, irony, puns, running gags, references, all that stuff. And stop forcing Demyx to be other cartoon characters.
