Anime Expo update!
Urk! I know it's been awhile since I actually brought up the AX meeting, and I hope people haven't already forgotten! :O I've already arranged with the dudes who need airport pickups/hotel space in the Holiday Inn, so I hope everyone else found places to stay, if you're coming!
Which means now what I think we need to finalize is the actual meet-up! I think the general consensus on the last post was for Saturday at lunchtime, when we would meet for eats and a dramatic badfic reading! Unless anyone has anything in particular they'd like to suggest for the dramatic reading, I think we may end up using a snippet from Liquid Fire. XD
WHEN: I am going to throw out a time for Saturday, and say we meet at 12:30 for lunch. I can't seem to find a copy of the full AX schedule on their site, so I don't know if there's any huge events going on other than one of the concerts, I think. So for now, let's say we meet at 12:30!
WHERE: Unless anyone suggests a better meeting place, I say we meet at voodoobob's table in Artist's Alley. (Just as long as we don't crowd too much!) I'll make a big sign with big letters reading KHFFR So that the table can be found easily. So starting around 12:30, head for Artist's Alley!
EATS: My knowledge of the Long Beach area is not as great as Anaheim, so I think we're open to restaurant ideas. I believe a particular Irish pub whose name I've now forgotten was suggested by lazzchan?
FUNNESS: The badfic reading will take place anytime during/after lunch, I believe. It can also be an impromptu sporking, if people like, with throwing out random comments whenever wanted. XD Also, to anyone with a GBA and CoM: bring along a hook-up cable, if you can! For anyone interested, I think it would be fun to play some CoM versus mode.
POSTERITY: I am a camera retard and own pretty much nothing of the like, so if people have cameras, bring them too! Even better, if anyone out there has a digital video camera, bring that and we can record some awesomeness and YouTube it for the KHFFRers unable to attend AX.
COOOOOOOON: Other stuff people may or may not be interested in seeing together: there's the AMV contest on Friday night, the Masquerade is on Sunday night (although the line for that is always notoriously long) and I believe the KH cosplay gathering will be taking place sometime Sunday afternoon. Of course, if last year is any indication, the amount of KH cosplayers at that gathering will probably be visible from space.
So! Do these plans sound good to everyone? Please say so!
