Fall in Alaska!

Wow, it's been over a year since my last entry!  (sounds like a confessional - not that I'd know)
We completed our 9 month, 49 state, 10 province 40,000 mile tour of North America at the end of May.
Here's our Blog if you haven't been following:

This summer we moved into one of our Apartments (we have 3 duplexes) and proceeded to upgrade this and that, and do normal summer Honey-do repairs and maintenance on all the units.  We also opened an Air B&B!  The Apt has 2 bedrooms, so we outfitted one to be a nice B&B room, and made a bit of money hosting guests, mostly in August, but some in June/July, and several in September so far.

That's the downstairs tenant's car - but it is our 'oldwing!

We put up a world map to track where our guests are from.  So far we've met folk, through AirBNB from San Fransisco, New York, Savanna, New Orleans, Tulsa, Vancouver, Sydney and Melbourne, and Singapore.  Everyone's been great!
When we didn't have Air B&B guests, we've often taking in Couchsurfers!  Since we used this service on our trip, we're "Paying it forward".  Our Couchsurfers have been from Montreal, Houston, Berlin, Taiwan, Nasik and New Delhi India!
We've had a nice time hosting both paying and free visitors and recommend either experience to everyone.

This summer we tried running a Funnel Cake booth at the Farmer's Market.  It didn't make a lot of money, but it occupied our time once a week, and we made a little pocket cast.  Happily, set up wasn't expensive and we only did it on Wednesdays.
Lareena's scored a job at the School District as a Special Education Aid, and I'm still looking for permanent work.  Other than the projects, I've picked up some day work here and there.

We viewed the Aurora with our AirBNB guests, and this is one of the photos Justin (from Sydney) took.
