So from Friday through Friday this last week, we played let's see... 6 + 13 + 8 + 7 = about 34 hours of AD&D!
Apart from our usual Friday 3.5 games, we had an opportunity to play a semi marathon of version 2 with a fellow from my AD&D group from 12 years ago, and his son (who couldn't play then, he was 8-10years old) who'd always wanted to be in our game, and three of his gaming buddies. It was a meeting of 2 generations, but we did okay.
It was a feast of various and large quantities of chips, soda, pizza, burritos and lasagna.
It was really like the olden days, playing endlessly til all hours gaming with friends. It was great. It's probably a one time or very occasional occurance, as the son was visiting from Washington state for the holidays.
But you never know, maybe we'll start another game!
I've generally said, we'll probably be playing D&D in the old folk's home when we're old and retired. I'm not interested in peaknuckle (nor can I spell it) I'll still be running my version of 2.0. IMHO 3.5 is an entirely different game, which I'm happy to play, but have no intent to run. 4.0 is right out- may as well play a video game.
There's 'ultimate frisbee', is there 'ultimate D&D'?
Happy new year, btw. I start working back in Kotz on the 20th for the duration.
