Global warming my ass!  Al Gore needs to be flung into outer space!

Someone please tell me where the earth is heating up so fast so I can move there!  I have a really hard time buying into all the global warming hype when it's 39 degrees in Southern Texas!

Well San Antonio does seem to have an normal low temperature of 40 degrees for Dec. 22nd Austin has an average low of 41 degrees.

Now I'm not sure but I would assume that they are measuring the median temperature, meaning that half of the historical data would fall below that and half would be above, but there is no knowing what the standard deviation is without getting the data from the NOAA people, (s0rry, t00 ch34p to buy, t00 l4z33 to h4x0rz) but it might be reasonable to believe that the 33 degree low today is not more than one standard deviation outside of the mean. Of course they could be measuring the modal temperature (that would be uncharacteristically sneaky of them) but this is likely close the same number if the distribution is normal.

Anyhow my guess is the most rational explanation for the cold is well, it's December. The low here was 15 degrees according to the wunderground.

That said, have a nice cup of hot chocolate, cuddle up in some warm blankets, (preferably with someone hot, but whatever you gotta do) and read a good book or something, and really Texas? Oy!

Okay... so I can understand it being cold here in December, cause that's what it does here, but when it's snowing in places like Houston, Austin, New Orleans, Miami, and Southern California, OTHER than in the mountains where it does snow... I just don't buy it. I've decided man-made global warming is a damn farce.
